Men who wear Pink

Okay so what is the after hours opinion of men wearing pink shirts etc?

A couple of years back I dressed up an a nice suit for a day out and wore a pink shirt underneath. I thought it looked well on me and a girl that I really liked at the time thought so too because we ended up together afterwards and she kept saying how good pink looked on me.

On the flip side a lot of people didn't like the look and I got comments ranging from "look at that flucking homo" to "did you wear that as a dare or what?"

So its the year 2011 and there are men's hand bags, men's make up etc but that's okay because it's the guys wearing suits and pink shirts that have the country ruined Joe!

Why the stigma with men and pink and should it be there at all?

There's nothing wrong with rocking an open pink shirt with sunburn.

Where did you get the idea that men's handbags and make-up were ok ?

A pink shirt can look good on a man.

The people who were calling you homo etc were probably jealous because they're not confident enough in themselves to wear a pink shirt.

Meh, we live in an age where these products are available to men and yet the pink shirt is still a problem. Lesser of the evils imo

depends - pink shirt , potential gay, depends on mannerisms

pink polo shirt or tshirt - just a wanker , homo tendancies hidden below a passion for cocaine and a low IQ

I have a few pink items of clothes, shirt and a 'top' for the want of a better word. I get a few funny looks but most of the time it passes unnoticed.

Though it had the opposite effect on a date once when the woman in question took one look at me and said "A Pink Shirt!" I can still hear the disgust.

I don't mind as lng as nobody else does and when they do mind I point out a girl wearing blue and ask them if they think she's a lesbian.

Don't like your poll options. My answer is that I wouldn't wear it but if others want to then fair enough.

Looks great on some men, not all men can get away with it.

I don't mind what a man wears as long as he has a pretty smile to go with it.

Already lots of men in pink are homo's etc but when you go to other countries such as spain etc you see guys wearing pink and stringing babes along after them? Is this just an Irish thing or what?

Pink shirts are grand IMO. I'd echo what someone already said about pink polos and tees though.

There are some colours I just wouldn't wear and one of the is pink.

Brown is another. So is red.

    Grey? Hmmm... maybe, maybe not...

Yellow? Yes, but only with blue.

It's also a British thing. It's an American thing, especially in the south. Woe betide any man wearing a pink shirt who walks into a bar.

was pink shirts/tops on men not the trend about 2 or 3 years ago? see very few lads wearing them now.

The idea of pink for girls and blue for boys is a fairly recent one, you know - dates back to around Edwardian times - and there was a period of pink for boys and blue for girls along the way. No reason why men shouldn't wear pink - unless they're gingers ;)

Seriously? We're still having to debate whether pink shirts are gay? How paranoid and possibly repressed do you have to be to get freaked out about the choice of colour of shirt of a total stranger?

You know what's gay? Banging other members of your gender. You know what's straight? Banging members of the opposite gender. You know what's neither? EVERYTHING ELSE.

There's no such thing as being 'manly enough' to wear pink.

It's gay. Anyone who wears it is gay. They're not manly. They're gay.

    Gay.

I wear pink. Not mad bright pink though. I have dark skin and colours like pink, purple and blue suit me. Have often been complimented on the colours I wear and never had a bad reaction. I'm very surprised at some of the comments here!

Exactly. Pink isn't a no-no because it's "ghey", it's a no-no because it makes you look like you haven't bought a t-shirt in two years.

    You have issues.

One being you don't know the definition of 'gay'.

You're probably wearing a black t-shirt, with either a metal band logo on it, or a logo for an alcohol company, or a world of warcraft logo.
