Im looking to put on some muscle and not sure exactly what i need or how much to spend on weights. Can anybody give me advice on how much you would be paying for a good set and where to get them the only place i looked is Argos. Im Male 5'6 and 11st 7pounds. I am fairly stocky but my arms are mostly flab and decided to tone up while also trying to lose the stone weight i was aiming for. My main aim is to tone up and get a bit bigger. Dont want to be huge but would like to put on some muscle. I said i would ask here as im really unsure what or where to get weights.

I got mine from here http://www.powerhouse-fitness.co.uk/weights/weight-kits?p=2. If the prices for the 145kg set are outside your budget, you could try second hand.

Buying a good Olympic set will mean that, if you ever need to sell it on, you'll get a good price and will find it very easy to sell on - Olympic sets rarely come on the second hand market but cheap argos sets are a dime a dozen (people tend to buy them, outgrow them quickly, regret their purchase and then move onto a good Olympic set).

Don't worry about getting huge, it'll not happen without years of dedication, good diet, plenty of sleep, etc. You're not gonna wake up in 6 months looking like a bodybuilder.

If you need a bench and rack, you could do a lot worse than this from PowerHouse Fitness or this and this from Irish Lifting.

Irish Lifting do free delivery on orders over 500 euro and both places should be able to offer a discount. Powerhouse Fitness is a standard 42 pounds delivery to Ireland - even for my recent order that weighed in excess of 300kg.

The advantage of a good sturdy bench and power cage is that you can work out along, safely, without a spotter.
