lets suppose someone downloadded a free (illegal) update for a garmin 250

    "Hypothetical" question

    Lets suppose someone downloadded a free (illegal) maps for USA onto a garmin 250.

    And lets suppose having done this the sat nav worked for 20 mins and then the screen was covered by a message that say says "cannot locate maps" and even having powered on / off it still says the message. The message sits on top of the login screen (can vaguely see it) so its not possible to put in the 4 digit password.

    Any ideas how to reset the garmin and we have paid for lifetime updates for ireland & uk and I'd like to reset and reload

    Obviously a lesson to be learnt about free things..... ;)
    Won't be doing that again.
