doing well so far we are going to have our hands full against them in the WC

  • Aus 3 - 0 NZ

Quade Cooper penalty after some excellent pressure forces Read and Mealamu over the top.

    Pretty good pass by Cooper

  • Quade Cooper and Genia are made for each other. Such a good pairing.

    Beale with a phenomenal kick

  • Quade Cooper has already been amazing and terrible

  • Outrageous try save. All Weepu

  • Australia bringing some serious intensity to this game. Read is done I think.

I thought that Barnes said there was penalty advantage to Aus when he went to the TMO?

    Genia TRY!!!!

  • Genia is the best #9 in the world right now, by a distance. And he's still got absolutely years left to get better.

    Frightening.

  • Aus 10 - 0 New Zealand
    16 minutes gone.

Penalty given against McCaw and Mealamu amongst others for going over the top and sealing the ball. Aus lineout just inside their own half.

Great tackle by Fainga'a to save a certain try

This Aussie team with 2 more years under their belt will be a absolute hand full for the next Lions tour...

    more than that imo...

    This intensity is excellent watching

Muliaina shouldn't have been looking to do anything but get his hands on that ball instead of thinking about trying to get it away and looking at where he wanted to pass it. Carter, poor call to grubber. Didn't look on at all.

If Australia play like this I cannot see Ireland coming away with anything.

    Samo is having a stormer.

Will be very difficult to stop.

Worryingly for NZ Read off injured.

  • Aus 10 - 3 NZ

Carter penalty for Horwill offside in the centre

They won't keep up this tempo for the game. Expect NZ to creep back into it. If it wasn't for a bit of butchering, the game could be level. Australia are looking good but their line out is poor and they are poor at kicking goals. Two major weaknesses. Keep the faith!

  • you're delusional GerM

    cracking game

  • Best 30 minutes of rugby bar a certain second half in Cardiff this year!

    Quade Cooper is ridiculous

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,592 ✭✭✭GerM

    you're delusional GerM

You think they've a solid line out and are good at goal kicking? They've lost 2 of their own throws already and their goal kicking is all over the place often enough. NZ are playing awfully and are still making yards out wide and creating overlaps. Their error count must be huge. Australia are forcing errors with their intensity but keeping that intensity up over 80 minutes will be a huge ask. The NZ defence is leaking like crazy though; I don't think I can recall the last time they missed this many tackles in a half.

No, I could probably agree with that. But thinking that we're going to be able to deal with them is delusional...

Australia feed off pace, and we've gone to RWC without anyone to slow em down! They get quick ball from two rucks in a row, disjoint a defence, and 6 phases later they're scoring points. It's always the same!

The error count is systemic of the game they play, and the addage about breaking eggs to make omelletes is valid.

Jesus you would not think Samo was 35

    Great try from the Aussies.

Anyone else feel that Mccaw is overrated ?

  • Aus 20 - 3 NZ

Samo Try from a great Pocock steal and QC converts.

Absolutely not. He's one of the best flankers of all time.

Well he has been really poor in this game and anytime I see him never stands out as one of the best of all time.

Ah, right. That was somewhat tongue in cheek. I don't think we'll beat them at all. I do think we'll put in a respectable performance but they'll do enough to beat us comfortably enough but we'll make a game of it.

  • Half time Aus 20 - 3 NZ

Adam Ashley Cooper has been excellent imo

Might have something to do with the fact that Barnes pinged them early for sealing off the feet.

    Australia are on fire.

No, might be on the wrong side of a brilliant career, but still a force, good bloke as well...

ya Cooper having a great game,
He plays the game different to everyone other 10 in world, just has
    his own different ways.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,592 ✭✭✭GerM

11 missed tackles by NZ in that half. Abysmal stuff but nice to see them starting to wobble as the WC pressure starts to gather.

Cracking earlier than usual this WC year!

  • Site Banned Posts: 5,346 ✭✭✭wixfjord

I have serious fears for us against Aus. A dry day and quick ball and we'd be killed imo.

and its hard to see how we're possibly going to slow them down

Exactly, expecially without a proper 7.
