    Cork City winning now.

That Shels match would be even funnier if I had not included them in an Accum.

And probably funnier again if we weren't destroying yous in the league. Fair play to Sheriff, 3 stunning goals. We didn't give them the respect they deserved. Hope they go on and get further in the cup now.

Fairly certain! Irish Times referred to them as AUL today and this listing indicates the same...

Yup there was nothing we could have done to fix those goals, but there were alot of unusual things in our play. I'm hoping theres nothing in it, but I'm suspicious.

150-1 at HT and some huge bets were placed on the win at HT. Went higher with other companies but mate in PP says down a 6 figure sum.

interesting, shame it wasnt shels being **** :(

15-1 before KO seems to be the price, the HT price seems to the be one being checked out.

Anyone here get paid on the HT price.

****ing delighted its not us and one of our players :D

12/1 Bet365 seemed to be top price around few hours before kick off, which quickly tumbled to 8/1

Paddypower went 13/2 after being 14/1 last few days i think.

On Betfair, I checked at kick off and the market had been suspended at 1.16

maybe the shels players heard there wouldnt be enough wages to cover this week, and they could put money on against themselves, it happens more than you think

Nah it would have leaked for definite within the club. Also we wouldn't have fielded a first team.

Happens everywhere tbh and quite a lot towards end of season in LOI.

true story: LSL team down to play a match at 3pm one saturday and other team called them to say there was a stags that night could they play it at 12. Team played match and went pub one eagle eyed player spotted the match still down for 3pm in PP. lads put every penny they had with them on the correct score (having just played the match)............

it happens, the whole time, in all leagues! players or management are not going to say a thing as they can make good money from it!

And to think we nearly went a whole season without some controversy!

It happens a lot tbh in Ireland. Last time I know it happened at Shels was 2007.

Sick I didn't hear about it in all fairness till afterwards.

Hang on a second i checked Terry Rodgers in Fairview about half 5 and Shels were 2/9 Favs with Sheriff at 7/2

I Thought that was a bit strange at the time

    ABSOLUTE DISGRACE

....that nobody told me about this in time. I could have lumped on Sheriff and booked away trips to Thessaloniki and Kazan.

Bohs fans pepper sprayed in Longford and some sent home

    Heard that a while ago.

It's harder to find out about naughtiness not involving us because you don't have the Shelbourne and Sligo bush telegraph to keep you updated.

Little boys who cant handle their booze.

Fair few fellas got a blast by the looks of it. Was a load of drunken assholes around the town earlier before the match I would assume it was them who did not get in. Plenty pelting stuff down from the stand to the cops outside as well.

Went one nil up and could have been two up before bohs got back into the game. Sadly after that they stepped it up a gear and following a poxy own goal and a deflection that was that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,314 ✭✭✭BOHtox

I'm not 100% sure what exactly went on but this is what I think happened.
-Some Bohs fans weren't allowed in for one reason or another.
-Their mates went over to the gate to talk to the gardai to see if they will let them in.
    - A few lads started chanting and a few tried to open the gate forcefully. As someone said previously in this thread they were pretty drunk
    - A few Gardai over-reacted disgracefully and pepper sprayed the **** out of innocent fans who were only there to talk to the garda to try to resolve the problem.
    - Even after the first round of pepper spray a few bohs fans went over to again try to resolve the problem. There was not aggression here.
    - Gardai once again pepper sprayed people. I don't know if there's some sort of protocol for the use of pepper spray but I saw a few lads getting sprayed for about 10 seconds, he turned around and started stumbling away blindly, the garda followed him, walked in front of him and once again started spraying.
    - Due to the over and misuse of pepper spray, some Bohs fans (mainly kids) need medical attention from local first aid people.
Again, this is my take of events but I only saw most of what happened. I heard the rest from other fans. This may not be 100% factual, just my take on events.

Nothing I'm hearing condones the use of tear gas at a football match with an attendance of less than 1000 people.
