    have u been in larkfield before, if u are it would be easier for u to understand.

    Your basically looking out onto the campus were the enginnering and science building is. You'll might hear ppl going to and from lectures but you wont hav2 deal with the noise from the courtyard coz ur apartment doesn't look in to it which is pretty good.

    Sweet, can sleep off the hangover so!! I was in Larkfield on the open day but we only got the basic tour.

    so what rooms are quiet at night .ie not facing courtyard? 1-10, 10-20,20-20? etc.? and i got ground floor. Is that good or bad?

    If there's a fire it's good cause you'll get out quickly but if there's a viking invasion you'll be killed first/expected to protect the girls that are on the second floor...

    All the even rooms i.e VG12, V124 and V256 face the courtyard and all the odd numbers dont face the courtyard like VG13, V141, V219. If your someone who just really doesnt want any noise then your better of not facing the courtyard. I faced the courtyard and it was great if you looked out your window at all you could see who was there and normally after lectures people meet up at the seats outside and have the bants on the seats so if you dont go to your lecture you can head down and join in, 1 of the disadvanages of not facing the courtyard.

    As for fire alarms. Omg our head was tortured with them at least once every 3 weeks some stupid twat would come home from a night out and set of the fire alarm for the crac and the whole building would have 2 evacuate. But when ya think back it was good crac seeing all the ones outside. At 1 point the amount of ppl outside would determine if you actually went out or not. Them fire alarms will be 1 of the joys of living in hampstead woop woop

    You will learn to sleep through noise in Larkfield. I did and I'm a very light sleeper.

    Im a long way from Larkfield now, all the way over at WG12 (college park)

    You're in the room across from my old room (G45) on the side of the building that has an alley between it and the sports hall - although you're facing into the courtyard and not the alley. I was bouncing on a trampoline in your room at one stage last year haha :p

    I was in VG54 back in the day, just beside the courtyard entrance on the science/engineering side. It wasn't too noisy, except for the first few weeks everyone kept forgetting they lock that gate overnight to make you enter via the sports centre. Cue loads of drunk lads at 4am screaming 'AH FOR FUCKS SAAAKE' right beside my window :o

    Even if u do find your roommate on this campus residence changes the numbers around sometimes. I was given my room number in my acceptance letter but then when i arrived to move in I had a different room.

    Kind of wish it was easier to find who you're living with, so you can arrange who brings what.
    Otherwise you will always end up with a tin opener per person.

    yeah, you need all your kitchen stuff, plates cutlery, pots and pans, etc, and a microwave if your in Larkfield. not knowing your roommate generally means you'l have two of everything when you get there.
