Good to have some real football back :)

Lurvly. I take it the strike situation has been resolved then? What was the outcome there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,116 ✭✭✭Professional Griefer

Seen Guillem Balague said it was off on his twitter alright.

Really looking forward to this, gonna try watch La Liga closer this year, last year I loved watching Revista, gonna miss Mark this year though.

The league guaranteed €50 million owed to over 200 players in unpaid back wages and reached an agreement to allow players to be released from their contracts if wages were not paid. Basically what the players wanted is what they got. I'm usually against player-power, but in this case I think their actions were justified. I wonder if the Serie A players will be inspired to strike now too...

Theres so much money in La Liga that even the thread OPs get sponsorship deals.

Brought to you by the good people at footlocker

Going to be a tough year for Sevilla.

On the brightside going to the Derby :D

I'm looking forward to this. C.Ronaldo got 40 goals in 34 games last season in La Liga, I wonder will he score a goal this weekend? The match oughta be not too hard, Zaragoza are a shadow off their former self.

I hope Kaká plays. Looking back at how he set the footballing world alight in his AC Milan days, it is a sin to leave him on the bench. He is still only 29, he is far from past it. Sure Zizou was 29 when he joined Real!

Lucky. Are you going to the one at the Ramón Sanchez Pizjuan or the Manuel Ruiz Lopera?

The latter is one of the nicest stadiums I've ever been too, really enjoyable there, good atmosphere too.

I can't find any explanation for Atleti's 12pm kick-off with Osasuna. My guess is telly.

It's a good game for Atleti and Manzano to start with, hopefully they can get a good result but I'm still a tad wary of them. I know they've been pretty tough to beat in the last few years.

Telly. Trying to put some games on at times that would suit Asian audiences, i believe.

Will definitely be watching a lot more of La Liga than the PL this year. Can't wait :D

    Shame about redout :(

I wonder if Falcao will get 20+, or even 25+ league goals for Atletico. He should the quality in the UEFA Cup, and at a slighly less level in the Portuguese league. (compared to Spain)

    Valencia losing 3-2 atm

Given that it's Spain, I'm unsure if it's a morning game, or a late night game...

Lol Soldado. A hattrick and an own goal.

    Great win for Valencia. 4-3.

I'd say an excellent chance. Should play for Spain more as well.

So much for my optimism. Falcao wasn't even on the bench.

WTF? Atletico spent 47 million euros on him!!

Real Madrid XI v Zaragoza: Casillas; Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Carvalho, Marcelo; Xabi Alonso, Coentrao; Di María, Özil, Cristiano; Benzema.

Real Madrid bench v Zaragoza: Adán, Arbeloa, Varane, Albiol, Kaka, Callejón, Higuain.

A fully fit Kaká on the bench I see  56 million pounds to sit on the bench, i'm not even going to mention what he is on per hour.

Malaga against Sevilla should be good too, Malaga splashed the cash and Sevilla are a top drawer side. Van Nistelrooy should start, Baptista will miss the game AFAIK. Not sure if he has a late fitness test or something.

EDIT: Anyone know the music at the start of the La Liga program? When the presenter is going over the teams ,just happened there.

Malaga's summer spending, they are 2nd favourite, outside Real and Barca, to qualify for the Champions League ATM.

Apparently Mourinho could serve a 12 match ban

Cant stand rob palmer at times.

I thought Marcelo and Ozil would've been suspended for this game.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,003 ✭✭✭CorkMan

In the 1st 4 minutes he mentioned the Mourinho incident twice.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,068 ✭✭✭Bodhisopha

Yeah, he's a horrid shíte talker.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,003 ✭✭✭CorkMan

Gerry Armstrong starting the Ronaldo goal league total argument again

14 minutes in , 4th time Palmer mentioned the eye incident. Even joked Mourinho will give a wrong name when going to the spanish football association next week.

About time Real scored, could go on to hammer them with all the chances they're creating. Ronaldo with the goal.

We look like scoring every time we get the ball.

Benzema hasn't impressed. Missed at the close post twice and blasted a ball over the bar from inside the box.

I really don't understand why Di Maria is favoured so much.

Took a bit of a deflection but he adjusted his footing well to hit it on his right.

Well, Káká not athletic enough at the moment. He used to be, and if he'd stayed at Milan until Mou took over then he'd have all the attention of Mou but as it is now Káká just isn't who he used to be and Mou favours a highly athletic team with skill being secondary.
