Hope this is the right place to post this thread, only the other day one of my friends mentioned islation tanks and the visual experiance that you can get from them, he showed me this Joe Rogan Video.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEjTXX2rHgA

Has anybody heard about/experianced this experiance, I hear it comes with a massage then you go into the tank completely relaxed. Sounds like a really nice experiance. I want to see if anybody knows anything.
    Thanks in advance!

Those tanks are incredibly expensive. I was in Finland recently and used one. It's a bizarre experience to say the least. I actually wanted to try it because Rogan is always on about it on his podcast. It's certainly excellent for your skin, but you'd need to have a couple of sessions to truly experience anything significant from them. I did feel looser and relaxed after it.

I believe there are a few places in Dublin that offer sessions. You'd be out of your mind to buy or attempt to build one. You'd need a couple of grand's worth of salt easily.

Wasn't thinking of buying one or building one, would alway try before ya buy n anyways, maybe when I win the lotto or something!
But yeah was thinking of doing one around Dublin, it really seems to be something pretty cool to get into.
An ould bizzare experience sounds like something a bit out-o-d-norm, just looking forward to it now...whenever the money comes round!

I was in the harvest moon one, had some offer on years ago and I have seen offers since. 1/2 of the offers you see are for places which must have little business these days, and there is not much running costs so they may as well be used.

There was a chlorine smell which was distracting. I would recommend a massage over it for relaxation and a better feeling afterwards. Many places have offers on massage too these days.

There are other sensory deprivation things you can do or make, some make goggles from ping pong ball halves, or paint translucent paint over goggles, then you have a mild light shine through. Can be used with ear plugs or sound isolation headphones with a sort of muffled noise.

You can also get glasses with LEDs in them, they output light at changing or fixed frequencies that shine through your closed eyes.

    like these

I have a simpler pair, I also have lucid dream goggles to help induce lucid dreams they trigger you when you are in REM sleep. Haven't used either in years, had them before vanilla sky & inception and was surprised there wasn't more interest after those 2 films.

Thats pretty cool stuff alright, cheers for the other suggestion, I am crazy about thinking about the whole dreaming thing and those glasses sound like something to try!
A bit expensive, but like I say, love adding things to the whole things to do and try do, lists that I love formulating in my head!

There are plenty of webpages & books with tips on how to begin lucid dreaming, probably software for your PC too, trick is having very controlled snooze alarms, and a notebook. Once you get a few it is very easy to get them. I used to do it in college but once you get a 9-5 it is much harder.
