He could be a deadline day deal like Berbatov a few years ago.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,401 ✭✭✭evosteo

    yea i was thinking that

the levi fella is one hungry ****

but iv been reading alot of stuff saying hes going nowhere and others saying its only a matter of time,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,886 ✭✭✭MoscowFlyer

According to VDV, Levy told the squad that Modric was going nowhere. Im not sure he ever did this with Berbatov so I actually believe he will be a Spurs player come Sept.

    Any markets for Eden Hazard?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,401 ✭✭✭evosteo

surely he must realise theres no point in trying to keep him at the club when hes publically claimed he wants to move away from WHL.

i think it would be bad for player and club moral.

torres liverpool had somethin similar no?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,317 ✭✭✭Yardie

Spurs fans seem to think he is gone.

Victor Chandler have put the market back up offering 15/8 for Modric to be at Chelsea at end of transfer window.. PP also have a market now offering 5/4 on him not to be at WHL.

Not looking good. Redknapp says Modric will definitely play against City and odds for him to leave Spurs have gone out to 100/30 on betfair. Victor Chandler have closed their book again.

This will probably run right up to the end of a next week.

just read through the latest news atricles there,

chelsea pondering a 40M offer plus players, possibly sturidge and malouda

jesus they really really want him

    he really wants to go

and levi is the spanner in the works,

he was also supposed to play against united and hearts but that didnt happen either

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,832 ✭✭✭✭Blatter

I put €40 on him to join Chelsea @13/8 and €40 on him to stay at Spurs @6/5 last month.

Should only get a small profit but money is money.

yeah my hunch all along is that Redknapp and Levy are just driving a hard bargain but I thought it would be a done deal at this stage.

There is also the problem of the players Chelsea offering may not be interested in going to Spurs. I read elsewhere that Malouda could be going to Juve.

i think levi is been far too greedy,

    40M plus players!!!!

i think the move would suit both club and player

modric can triple his wages at chelsea plus have champions league football to look forward to and a chance to lift the EPL trophy

i dont think theres any incentive for him to stay at spurs, average team plus europa league football,

i think these talks between his advisors and levi would be to do with wage demands, and i reckon levi wont move much on that front

no wonder his head was turned, i know which one id be chasing

Harry on Sky now..says Modric asked him before the game to not be played, head not right. He's gotta go.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,401 ✭✭✭evosteo

its not doin the club and the player any good keeping him there, might be some movement later today or early tomoz.

he didnt even look interested in the city game today.

    levi has to giv in

harry will need the cash to get in more players

    they were simply outclassed today.

According to Guardian their offer for Meirleles (7m plus Benayoun) was rejected.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,832 ✭✭✭✭Blatter

Modric and Meireles are different types of players though.

Modric will pull strings and dictate the tempo of a game whereas Meireles will ghost in behind defences and is a more direct attacking threat.

I doubt the deals are dependent on each other. Chelsea could do with both players IMO.

They'd want to hurry the fup up and just sign Modric already!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,075 ✭✭✭IamtheWalrus

I think he'll go. His head has been turned. £40m is a lot of money. I don't think there will be a backlash from the fans because most would see that the offer is too good to turn down. Maybe Redknapp has a replacement lined up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 162 ✭✭Inkyhead

Agreed, they definitely want both. Two totally different players. Meireles is a link man, Modric is a playmaker.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,401 ✭✭✭evosteo

also read that the spurs offer for scott parker is on the rocks because the offer, cash + livermore. spurs want to hold onto livermore now because of the uncertainty of modric, sam wanted livermore as a replacement for parker, plus he would have cash to spend.

also read that spurs do actually have a price for modric which is €40 million so if chelsea do make the speculated offer of €40 i can see spurs caving in.

i jus be worriend that spurs are leaving it too late to get in new players as there is only 1 day 10 hours left in the window and might bottle the whole thing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,401 ✭✭✭evosteo

modric not to stay on betfair is currently 2/1, up from 4/5 sunday

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,672 ✭✭✭elefant

The market is back on PP. 5/4 on him going.

top ten transferes that are expected to go through according to the mirror

    http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/opinion/blogs/football-spy/Transfer-news-Top-10-deadline-day-deals-we-expect-to-happen-Wesley-Sneijder-Luka-Modric-Raul-Meireles-Alvaro-Pereira-article793199.html

    1) Andre Santos - Fenerbahce to Arsenal

    2) Luka Modric - Tottenham to Chelsea
Daniel Levy has backed himself into a corner with this one. Yet Chelsea could get him off the hook with a blockbuster Deadline Day offer of around £40million. Either way, his continued presence - given that he no longer wants to play for Spurs -is getting to his team-mates.

    3) Raul Meireiles - Liverpool to Chelsea

    4) Gary Cahill - Bolton to Tottenham

    5) Per Mertesacker - Werder Bremen to Arsenal

    6) David Ngog - Liverpool to Bolton

    7) Shaun Wright-Phillips - Manchester City to QPR

    8) Davide Santon - Inter Milan to Newcastle

    9) Alvaro Pereira - Porto to Chelsea

    10) Wesley Sneijder - Inter Milan to Manchester United

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,401 ✭✭✭evosteo

jus read there chelsea could turn to sneidjer

    http://www.fansfc.com/story/34954.html

27M plus malouda would tie up the deal

I agree that both would be a good addition, but I doubt Chelsea will be willing to show enough muscles to get them both. Especially when you sign both you are pushing Lampard out of starting XI.

Good play man. If I had a tonne down I'd defo look to lay some off. I don't have a huge stake on it and given the madness that usually happens on final day of window I'm gonna late it play out.

I went with him specifically to go to Chelsea on VC, so will be fairly hammed off if United stick in a sly bid tomorrow!

I don't believe Harry with his 1 million % .. I bet he's looking for Chelsea to make offer he can't refuse.. possibly Malouda or Drogba to Spurs plus cash??

Gonna have another small punt on him to go @ 6/1
