Big 3DS Title Reveal on September 13th

Anyone want to take a guess?

Nintendo's stock has soared following news that it's holding a major 3DS event in Tokyo on 13th September, just before Tokyo Game Show kicks off.

According to Andriasang, Nintendo is planning on announcing an "extremely big" title around that time - presumably at the Tokyo event.

As noted by Gamasutra, the company's stock shot up 8.4 per cent to ¥13,100 on news of the conference, which will be confined to trade and media.

Maybe those investors know something we don't. A new Monster Hunter? Pokémon? Dragon Quest? Steel Diver 2? Place your bets.

It better be a new title, not a 3DS version of Metroid Prime/Majoras Mask/Insert other rehashed game here.

Joystiq is suggesting a redesign of the 3DS, but I doubt it very highly that they would do it. At this stage, thay HAVE to be announcing GAMES, GAMES and more GAMES. It's the only way to spur sales for them.

Metroid, Zelda most likely of the big N franchises yet to have any sort of announcement.

Or could it possibly be a new I.P? you never know.
Whatever it is it had better blow me away or it'll be another disappointment:(

Smash Bros 3DS has yet to begin production as Sakurai is completing Kid Icarus: Uprising

There have been rumours that a two Fire Emblem titles (in similar tradition to that of Pokemon) are coming to the 3DS

Normally, Pokémon announcements are not made by Nintendo but I think it could be the remakes of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire or Pokémon Grey.

I really hope it's not a redesign, it will really lose them faith with customers.

Now if they manage to get Monster Hunter as an exclusive then that's a big game changer.

I could see a monster hunter game. It would mean that capcom could put off putting in the budget for a HD monster hunter for even longer.

Best guess is either a designed-for-3DS Zelda game or the first of the Pokemon games on the system.

I've voiced my support for Nintendo throughout the 3DS firestorm, but a redesign would really, really annoy me.

New Zelda, Pokémon or Castlevania would make me happy though.

zelda game would be a bit stupid, considering we got OOT.

i presume there are 2 mario games set for holidays? kart and land.

best bet would be Castlevania or metroid prime.

i really hope its not fecking pokemon....

It might just be nintendo holding it's own conference before TGS similar to their old space world conferences. Nintendo never show up at TGS so usually have their own event around the same time.

Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii) just eight months ago? It was a brand new game, save for a few retro touches. It's also very awesome.

I want a new Zelda game for the 3DS (other than a Majora's Mask remake). And I say it might be. Or as I have said previously, Pokémon or Fire Emblem.

A few months ago, when a new Pokémon game was meant to be announced, they had images of what appeared to be a sequel to the gamecube gake XD; Gale of Darkness. So, I am now thinking that it could be this. Since they are going to announce a BIG title, Pokémon Grey or remakes of the 3rd generation don't seem to be BIG titles, as they will just be enhanced versions of previously released games. So, I think it will be the sequel now. (And hopefully a new Zelda).

With Monster Hunter, wouldn't Capcom just announce it themselves as they publish it in Japan. Unless they will appear at the conference..

Yep, i bet it's a heavy hitter. So the new Pokemon. With a mario coming out soon I don't think it'll be another 2D mario; and with the console release of Skyward Sword I don't think it'll be another Zelda. So Pokemon!

I just want ANY first person shooter at this stage and a Metroid would be a good fit seeing as it involved a lot of scanning objects - in 3-D that'd probably equate to a lot more scanning than in previous games.

Still holding out hope for a CoD 3ds game - that would be me sorted for ages if that happened....

the problem there would be the lack of the right analogue stick. and to be honest i'd much rather get a different franchise on the 3ds than COD (although it could showcase the wi-fi multiplayer pretty well, i guess)

There didn't seem to be much announced after all. According to twitter feeds, all I've seen announced was zelda 4 swords anniv. edition for dsi/3ds free on 9/28, 3d video capture and streetpass plaza update in november, the slide pad released in japan on dec 10, and a pink 3ds...

And skyward sword will apparently have 50-100 hours of gameplay, with suggestions of a second playthrough with boss mode maybe. And animal crossing 3ds will allow you to customise the exterior of your house! yippee...

From the above article. Added system capacity? Or does this thing need batteries to even function (ie doesn't draw power from the 3ds itself)?

As far as I know, it takes just one AAA battery, and doesn't add any battery power to the 3ds itself.
