    hey all!
so basically, this is my first proper diet.
im 20 years old, 230 pounds, there around (im a naturally big build, but I could stand to lose at least 20-30 pounds).
So basically, being a student I have a SHOCKING diet and its very irregular, so ill do my best to give a rough of what i would have in a day.
    Breakfast:
A few slices of toast, maybe a slice of ham or 2 if its there and a boiled egg.

    Lunch:
Here is where it gets tricky. I sort of just eat when I'm hungry. So its usually a hotdog from the fridge or a ready to cook hamburger, or sometimes both tbh!
I am a sucker for easy to cook food.
Dinner: same thing really, this could be at 4 or 9 at night and it would be a ready to eat burger or if there is a pizza in the freezer i'd whip that on.

My big kryptonite though is Coke. I love the black stuff. I could drink 2ltrs in a day. It is very unheathly and im sure my teeth are taking a beating, but its like a drug to me, i get ten times more cravings for coke than i do for any other food or drink out there.

So basically what I am asking is what I should cut down on, what I should have more of and really overall what sort of foods I should be having on a day to day basis to lose weight. Also while I am here are there any in particular exercises I should be doing in the gym to lose it too?
Thanks in advance for the help guys!

The coke has to go!!! 2lts a day? Apart from the calories and the increased risk of diabetes the sugar will make you crave like hell. Perhaps you could give weight watchers a go?

  • jesus please don't do weight watchers.

Eat healthy instead of all this overprocessed junk that you currently ingest. The biggest problem you will have is that you will genuinely have to cut out all of the food you're currently eating. It's pure and unadulterated junk.

If you're not prepared to cook food, you wont be able to sort yourself out. "Training" isn't just the 1 hour average a day, it;s your entire week, food, exercise and sleep. If you don't attack it properly, you wont make progress.

Read the stickies, the nutrition 101 in particular, and try and reason out some of the stuff on your own. You will learn far more, and retain far better information, if you actively seek out the knowledge that will benefit your weightloss.

A massive +1 to the advice from emmet OP.

Don't go near WW, read the stickies and follow the information contained within.

Thanks for all the replies, guys!
I know i need to cut the coke, but its like a drug to me! (exuse the pun :) ).
I'm going to cut down on it at least though.

Well, today I had no carbs so im off to a good start!
Just wondering though, what are the general rules for weight loss on eating cheese and eggs? I love both, is it possible to lose weight and keep eating them or will one or both need to go?
