Now I'm wondering how you tune an electric car.

Now I'm wondering how you tune an electric car.

The 'engine' itself isn't tuned. Its more the drive train, so gear box, suspension set up, sundry aerodynamics and ceramic brakes. Its a shade lighter than the P85 but has the same power output, hence marginally faster, better stopping power. Not sure its worth the extra all in.

Gearbox is one-speed in electrics, not sure what you could gain there. Fair point about the rest, can't imagine it's worth it either.

    The gearbox ratio is altered.
The biggest difference is in the transmission, where the stock 9.73-ratio gets swapped for an 11.39:1 alternative with new straight-cut gears.

It is the ex-Mansfield/Citywest Phantom. Seen it at a couple of weddings over the last year or two.

Curious then, are cars registered in the states allowed to be driven here?

    Why wouldn't they be?

    Temporarily of course.

Insurance wise I imagine it would very difficult to deal with.
I mean, could I take my Irish car to the US for a month no problem? Genuinely curious

Although it's still the EU it's not a whole lot different than an Irish reg car in Poland. Or the Saudi dudes in London. Once it's temporary I don't see an issue. Long term on the other hand.......

Fair enough, i think though that if i decided to bring my car to the us for say a road trip that fbd may have an issue with it :)

Pretty sure you'd be covered for up to three months.

Irish insurance companies don't cover outside EU, if you want to take your car to the US you would have to get additional insurance in the US from a limited number of companies that offer the service

Overland travellers would generally be the only people looking for this type of insurance

All this insurance, road trip stuff reminded me of this story:

    http://www.dublintosydney.com/Route/DublinToSydney/DublinToSydneyRoute.html?onRollOver=[type+Function]&onPress=[type+Function]&onRollOut=[type+Function]&useHandCursor=false&enabled=false

    Unreal.
