    Hi all,

Just looking for some advice here. I spotted that there's a 10km mini marathon race on in my area on the 10th of September and I'd like to run/jog it. However, the most I have run to date is 8km. I ran 7km a few days before that and have been running 5km 2/3 times a week most weeks for a good while now.

In three weeks do you think it's plausible that I could run the 10km or should I leave it for a bit longer? I ran the 8km in ~42/43 mins a few days back. The route was flat for the first 5km and then up and down for the rest.

    Thanks!

    Absolutely.

You'd do a 10k now if you wanted to, you'd be wrecked after but you'd do it.

    Go for a 7k monday, 8.5k wednesday, and a 7 to 8 on friday
Following week 8k monday, 9.5k wednesday, 8k friday
Week of race do an 7 monday, 9 wednesday, rest on friday and do the 10 on saturday.

That's how i'd do it anyway.
