My Dad takes salt tablets before triathlons and find they help in preventing him cramp up. I'm just wondering would it be a good idea to take one before a Gaa match or is a Gaa match not long enough to take one for.

    Thanks.

Do you cramp up during a GAA match?

No never. But aren't they good for keeping you hydrated aswell? 'cause you loose alot of salt during exercise.

    Not Exactly
They will make you thrirsty. Better to get salt through sport drinks or normal food.

I don't want to sound smart, but you said you never cramp when you are playing GAA.

And your Dad uses them to prevent cramp in Triathlon.

So you are asking if they are good idea to prevent something you don't get from an activity you don't perform.

I'm no expert on the demands of sport, but a triathlon (I can safely say) places completely different demands on you than 70min of football.
