How about go join a club that does something you're interested in, photography, sports, creative writing, anything really. Chances are there will be other members of that club that have a shared interest. There may be some you are attracted to. Already you have a shared interest so there's a starting point. As you get to know this person and spend more time with them they might be a pretty good match for you.
Before you know it, Bam! you're in a relationship.

That's why I'm not a fan of online dating. i don't think it's natural to describe yourself in 80 words or less. You'll always sound like a tool. Meeting people in person and getting to know them is still the best way I feel.

See someone you might like online - they like you - have a pint or lunch with them - take it from there.
