Ideas for food when you are working on the road

I have just rejoined the gym after 18 months. I know I need to eat every few hours if I am training.

The problem is I don't know what to bring with me every day to work. I work on the road as a rep, sometimes its hours between meals and then it's a sandwich.

Any Ideas for a healthy lunch box on the go?

not quite enough for a meal but it would be worth having a decent sized bag of jerky in the car to snack from. Biltong.ie is a good brand

Me too, i literally bring a bag of food with me now, it stops the unnecessary garage 'junk food' pitstop. Pasta salad is a good one , I've tried a couple of those john west tuna lunches and they're not bad, other than that its wraps/sandwiches make sure you bring loads of fruit , I find grapes handy as you can graze along between calls if you don't have much time. Lots of water too, but I know this can be annoying when working from the car as you don't want to be looking for a clean toilet all the time.

Reuse the bottles! Just be careful of the carpet :(

Tinned fish is handy, especially if you get cans with pull rings on them.
Tupperware or similar containers can keep lots of good things fresh, especially if you put them in one of those insulated shopping bags. Salads, home-cooked meats, fish, whatever, can all be made to stay fresh and tasty for a day on the road with a bit of preparation.
As already said, jerky/biltong, some fruit (apples, pears, grapes, etc), nuts (in moderation!), some veg (well, carrots :D ) can all be eaten on the move.

Was just going to mention that. A friend of mine was telling me today that he makes his own. Just cut the steak into strips, cover it liberally in aromat seasoning and put in the oven at the lowest setting. After a couple of hours when the majority of the moisture has evaporated it's ready to go! :)

Nuts are handy(no don't quote this because it is ambiguous)

    No you don't.
If 3 meals a day (before, during and after work) are easier for you then thats the best option.

You were doing well until you mentioned aromat, that stuff is terrible, essentially MSG.

For biltong you should marinade it in vinegar and spices, I use strong chilli flakes, but thats just preference, paprika wiould be fine if you liek milder flavour, or even no spice,

Home made flap jacks or paleo bars FTW, check out Transform's web-site, I think he has some recipies up there, they come in really handy when you need a good snack and haven't got time to be eating a proper meal with all the trimmings. www.dominicmunnelly.ie

Powdered oats+ milk+flavoured protein + olive oil/udos oil/peanut butter--> blend (dont make it too thick as it may thicken a small bit in the flask depending on how uch milk/oats you have used.

    Put this in flask

    Bring it with you!

    Delicious/ nutrition/convenient!
