Organ donor card and rich recipients!

    Hi.

I am all in favor of organ donor cards. However I'd hate for organs to go to a person based on their wealth rather than on priority. How can this be prevented with our evil 2 tier system? There should be one system for all. Wealth should be irrelevant to the health care someone receives.

    Example:
A rich low life could get a liver transplant (poisoned by years of drinking too much champaign) before a poor guy that has a liver condition (for example caused by undiagnosed haemochromatosis).

Sell your organs to the poor person for a small nominal sum before you die. Because it's a small nominal amount they can buy lots of organs, and if by some mad chance they end up getting two of the same they can sell one to the rich dude, thereby closing the class gap and saving a life.

You could get a tattoo saying "organs only for poor people"....But then what is poor?
You can get champagne for less than €20 these days like.
You could, I suppose specify an income range, but like in today's economically uncertain who is to know who will be what in 10 years time.

And who is to say the Evil top tiers will not just pretend that they are giving your organs to someone rich?

Or that the poor person is actually a rich person utillising their considerable wealth to dupe the system into giving them organs for someone sicker.

I think you should just eat paleo and become immortal.

Public vs private doesn't come into it for organ transplantation - its decided on clinical need alone.

At least in this country. Shady stuff goes on in in other places

There's death row prisons in China that have organ transplant hospitals next door.
Rich American's can be told months in advance when their perfect match kidneys will be ready.
The execution can be moved forward for the right price.
    Now that's 2 tier.

If you were a millionaire with a very sick child would you opinion be the same?

The UK and Ireland share resources here so a fair chance your organs are not staying in this country

I fail to see what this thread has to do with Health and Fitness so I'm locking it.
