In theory - but accessing the site's often an issue plus the emails take a while to queue.

There's a new SMS service now it seems which is supposed to be faster. Got an email about earlier this week and I think you need to be signed up by today to get it

Edit: actually needed to be signed up by yesterday for this service

This always annoys me. Not so much the wait, but the fact that every February and August, the ACCA are unable to handle the results efficiently. They never seem to learn.

I was like that with two papers in December. (I had swine flu when I took them). I received an 87% on one and a 69% on the other. So IMO not recognising the paper doesn't tell you anything regarding how you did.

Thank you SBwife.... you have given me some hope ;)
they are excellent results even without swine... but to get them when your sick is amazing... well done!

My results usually range betweem 50% up to 65%... if i got 87% i would faint!

Just a quick note to wish you all well.
I sat P1 and P3 last Dec and got them both (just about!),
but found it very hard to get into p2 mode for June and opted to give it a miss until
December (regretting that now). It's my final subject... so any words of wisdom or
helpful hints from P2 PASSERS would be very welcome.
Good luck - hope the wait is worthwhile for you all.

    Few things:

Go to Liam Doran's class in Independent Colleges
    Practice past exams questions
    Practice them all again

    Well I don't think I passed P1 & P2 anyway. Dreading the results.

I'm never doing exams where there on 2 days in row again, its just not worth it. That's also friendly advice to anyone else.

I ended up with 3 days in a row, never again. Took P2 in June so as to avoid having the issue in December.

I'd also like a to make a little Rant about releasing the results on Monday morning. ACCA take enough of our weekends without ruining another one by making us wait all weekend, a Friday or at least mid-week release would be so much nicer.

Agreed, it is as if ACCA Global do not want us to go on the piss at any cost with the 5:00 AM Monday release :)

I'm expecting P1 and P2 results in 10 hours time. I think I passed them both. Probably.

The worst thing is all the fecking questions you get when you go into work. "How did you get on?" mind your own business...!!

Late on a Friday evening would suit me, then 2 whole days to get over it or go on a bender to celebrate!!

I would just study the standards. If you can do the standard questions then you shouldn't have any problem in Q1, it'll just be about know the lay out of the b/s or C/F etc.

I woke up this morning to find I failed my final paper (Auditing) I got 49% so I'm sick. I was thinking about getting them rechecked, I'm just wondering do ye think it's worth it, I know they don't recheck it but does rechecking it prove closure??

You may as well for the peace of mind. My lecturer last year said he'd always recommend it when you get 49%.

I passed P1 and P5, no idea how but very happy with that. P2 and P3 for December.

Passed F8, P1 & P3 :D:D:D:D:D. Really didn't expect to get P3. Trying to decide which ones to do next as i have 3 left (p2 & the options). Any recommendations? Is P2 as hard as everyone makes out? Im thinking of either sitting it on its own or doing an option with it and then leave the last option until next June. Words of wisdom anyone?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 624 ✭✭✭gudede

Thanks for the info another world. I'll have to get it rechecked :D

Well done Neerod. I didn't find P2 that bad, but you do need to do alot of work for it and also you need a good Lecture or else you'l be ****ed so make sure you do your homework on the person teaching the class. I had a guy called Noel Daly down in Cork and I taught he was good. Also heard Liam Doran is good.

With regards your other option auditing is very hard but you'll need to know the accounting standards for the auditing exams so I would recommend doing two of those. Tax subject is very hard and the Irish examiner is a BITCH and she doesn't have a clue. When I was doing the exam she gave us a question about a topic that wasn't on the course and the question was so hard that the head of the tax exams said he wouldn't give a question like that in the tax finals. I remember my tax lecture giving me her solutions and he said he wouldn't give her 40% for those answers. Needless to say when the solutions got released ACCA gave difference solutions

Finally Passed me Final exam (p5) wasn't a bit sure after the exam that I'd get it but the relief today is amazing!

Thanks for reply gudede. Im in Cork myself and have usually gone to griffith but have heard great things about Liam Doran in independent for P2. Hard luck with the auditing to be honest i got an admin review in Dec as i failed F8 first time round by 4% and i can honestly say it was the biggest waste of money. They basically send you a copy of the exam paper, the ans and the marking scheme and then they tell if you passed or failed each question (they don't even give you a breakdown of the marks) they tell you that your paper has been marked 3 times already and that the review is not a remarking process. Like you i felt that i needed to do it to get peace of mind though so at 49% i think to be safe you should get it if you don't mind spending the money but don't have too much hope in the mark being changed. If i was to do P2 & P7 do you think its doable to homestudy for P7? Hard luck on F8 irishmanmick i was in the same boat in Dec but you will fly it next sitting.

I done homestudy for the P7 last time and I found the notes and books alot better than the course (I done the course in Griffith 1st time around) the books cost about 250-300 as far as i remember but I taught it was worth every penny. I found with P7 the classes, that they weren't very good because you have to do all the work yourself to fully understand it. I spent half my time been asleep in the classes wondering what the score in the champions league matches were ;) hence why I failed the 1st time ha.
