what's the best thing you've ever won in a competition/raffle etc?

Just thinking about a few things I've won in competitions, my favourite prize would prob have to be the one I won last year on 2fm (same day Gerry Ryan died):

2 x vip tickets to see AC/DC (including backstage passes) flights, accom, 200 sterling bar account in the hotel for the download festival at Donnington!

Up until that day, it was a skateboard I won at the local GAA's christmas bumping (about 20 years ago) lol

Not including lotto/betting shop wins, what was the best prize you ever won?

I won a racing bike in 1989.....in a cow pat compeition. For those of you who don't know what a cow pat competition is.....picture the following

You construct a paddock, mark out a 1 metre square grid 25m x 25m, bring in Daisy the cow and wait for nature to take its course. Where Daisy drops a pat is the winning square:D

Ticket cost me a quid, bike was worth 150!!!:P

I won a bronze pentel medal when I was in school and got some wicked crayons. It was an awful picture, I'm fairly sure they thought it was from a special needs kid and had pity on me.....I enjoyed their pity.

lol that is so weird, that is the exact same for me. I would say the Disney land trip was better because the lap land trip was only a day trip.

Probably about €400 in single hand of poker in the casino. Won a few hundred dollars playing an online tournament (can't rememeber exact amount cos I was quite drunk) and win between €100 and €150 several times a year in a local pub tournament that I play for fun.

This is skill rather than luck btw.

This doesn't actually count as winning as such because I didn't actually pay for a ticket or whatever...but was in the shop one day (shop was empty) and looked at the place beside the counter where people obviously scratched their scratchcards and left the losing ones behind. And there was one sitting right there in front of me, scratched off, that was a €100 winner. Obviously the scratcher had simply not spotted that it was a winner. But I did. Had to double and triple check to make sure it was real, but it was.

That was a good day.
