back boiler & heating system

    Hi there, I am sure this sounds really silly, but I could not find any answer within the thread and I am no plumber so don't know the technical terms as such, but am looking for some advice please.

    We have a stanley erin stove with a back boiler that heats the water and the rads upstairs. There is a tank in the attic & then the hot water cylinder in the hot press. As I understand the water is heated from the stove, taken up to the tank in the loft and then down to the water tank in the hot press. My question is, we were told that the thermostat on the water tank in the hot press should be set to 60 degrees, to what temp should the thermostat on the tank in the loft be set?

    Describe the tank and stat in the attic. Unusual that there would be a stat fitted on it. if there is one near by it may be a frost stat that controls an attic heater.

    Thanks for your reply, will get a photo in the next couple of days and post up, I haven't actually seen it myself - it is one of those long, long stories between landlord and tenant and it still doesn't seem to be working properly
