    Right,

I'm starting a new thread if that's ok with everyone???

What is everyone's favourite music to work out to? I was in the gym last night and the instructor changed the music from some dance-y sh*te, and put RATM's first album and Pearl Jam's "Ten" on shuffle. Bloody hell, they are two fantastic albums to work out to.

    No it's not okay :p

I love a good bit of hard rock when working out but don't mind a bit of dance either.

Lots of hard rock and metal! Mastodons old stuff has become a favourite of mine recently while trying to break a squat PR, nothing like listening to motherpuncher while trying to psyche yourself up for a heavy lift!

I don't really care about music when I'm training.
    Does nothing for me.

WTF? Way to kill a thread. Why post in it if you don't have anything to offer?

    WTF?
Its a list of previous Gym music threads that have been started.
    Way to kill a thread.

    I didn't.
There were two responses, excluding mine.
There is nothing to say that there would be any more.
Plus the thread is still open and people are free to post.

Why post in it if you don't have anything to offer?

I offered a heap of other threads on the topic.
Thats like thousands of times what you offered.
    Also I offered my perspective.

Have I offended you in some way?

I'd be a big fan of some nDubz to work out to. Clears out the gym in seconds too!

Been running to a mix of Limp Bizcuit, Linkin Park, Girl talk & Dan le Sac V Scoobius Pip lately.

A mix of metal (old Slipknot), Prodigy, Pendulum and a bit of dubstep is alright, even though I'm not a fan of it.

I actually found this song is a good one for motivation

Am i the only one who listens to things like Daft Punk, The Go! Team or MSTRKRFT... only for cardio though. No music for resistance.

Whatever music is playing in the gym, and if I am listening to my own music it is normally rap music, like 50 Cent or Eminem.

He is only a small step up from John Barnes.

There is actually a risk that something that terrible would hinder my performance in the gym.

And I set a squat 5rm to "when love takes over" by Kelly Rowland once.

Roy Jones is a lyrical wizard... You might get arrested for hate speech if you sing one of his songs out loud tho

I've found podcasts to work the best for some reason. Specifically old Adam and Joe podcasts. The music in my gym is quite loud and my shuffle is quite weedy, so any songs I listened to were getting drowned out a little.

Listening to people talking, the music sorta fades into the bg like a music bed. It works quite well for me. Plus the joy that is A&J keeps me distracted enough to get through the session.

Yeah I do like Homework too esp towards the end, I can't remember the name of the song but it has a great tempo for when I'm starting to crash and need a push. Also just tryed Hello Nasty this week, haven't listen to it in a while so it cheered me up enough to beat my current time.

there's an old tale that when they were putting the album together, they had about 50 minutes' worth of material. However, they were after taking so much coke when they recorded it, that it was done in 35 mintues.
