    Well its coming to the time of year again when our little boards home receives an influx or traffic of new and returning students so I thought id start this thread so everyone can introduce/reintroduce themselves

    Any clubs and socs you intend to join: Depends on the time but I'll give Gigsoc, Debate Soc and Poker Soc a plug.

    Any other info you like to give us: Don't be afraid to drop into your local SU office for any sort of query, be it that your short of a pen, a condom or you want to get involved in any way or shape. It's a great way to meet new people.

    Course and Year: DT365/2 - B.Sc Business and Management Year 2
    Campus: Aungier Street
    Clubs and Socs: I'll probably go back to BAM Soc and Banter Soc. Also, me and a couple of mates from my class have started the Liverpool Supporters Society. (Hint Hint Hint - please join even if you have no interest in being a Liverpool Supporter!:D)
    Distinguishable Features: Not quite a feature but there's a 95% chance that at any stage during the year I will have a cup of coffee in my hand. I also spend a lot of time in the AST SU beside the 1st pool table!
    Any other info: Nah not really, aside from the obligatory GO DIT, and to all first years, go to the Freshers Ball and have a blast. Tis a great night!

    Registered today (deferred entry) so I guess I'm as near as makes no difference a DIT student. Hello everyone!

    Any clubs and socs you intend to join: From looking here I'd guess computing soc and Netsoc, but I really have no idea, I'll see what takes my fancy on signup day.
    How people will recognize you (any distinguishing features or style): Average build, usually wearing jeans and a plain t-shirt/shirt, 6', slightly shy, so no, no distinguishing features at all!

    Gamesoc is a really good society but they are predominately south side, its unlikely they will have a stall on the north side so you should contact them to join. Just about every society is good for socializing and I am damn sure there is a movie society

    BTW I assume you know you'll need to do an industry placement! I'd start searching ASAP and decide whether you want to do it in industry or research! Just finishing my 12 week stint!

    They'll mention it in Semester 1 but be on top of you in Semester 2. I started banging out emails and secured mine really early. Having it in the bag means you've less stress cause 3rd year is the most difficult year for everything!

    BAM Soc is open to all students and they've one of the largest membership of any society in DIT. They're on Facebook if you want to know more.
