I am heading to this game on Friday with my mate from England. Anyone know of any good spots to head to a couple of hours before kick off to wet our whistles? We will be coming from Grafton Street direction so anywhere between there and the Donnybrook Ground would be good.

How seriously do fans expect the teams to take the match?

Put it this way I'm having my "stag" at this, purely as no one is going to take it seriously, The best thing that generally happens at these matches is that no one get's injured. At the corresponding fixture last year if I remember correctly stan got injured and ended up being out for a while.

Other then that Kiely's is probably your best bet for atmosphere pre game

Rebels lost again to Warriors in English Prem, don't think they have won a game yet on tour have they?

Cool. Not too worried abut the game being taken too seriously just want to have a good time tbh and experience a decent atmosphere. Only recently moved to Dublin so will be my 1st Leinster game. Hopefully get to a few more when the proper action starts up. Enjoy your stag, will you be the fancy dress section of the crowd?

once you don't expect a fantastic game of rugby and are just going for a bit of craic you won't be disappointed. The last few years at the pre season friendlies they have some fantastic food stalls and it's easy to get to and from the bar so it's sets it up as a good night out. Just make sure you get the cheaper terrace tickets as oppose to getting tickets for the grandstand as you'll have better craic there.

As for my stag nah it won't be fancy dress, however just look for a group where half of them at no point look at the pitch and the other half look even more drunk then the rest of the crowd

Kielys all the way. Get there early though. It may only be a warm-up but there will be a crowd. Looking forward to it myself!

ah here, they had spit roast pig burgers last year at the match and you are suggesting eddies

Yeah I got a pair of terrace tickets as I thought that would be better craic for sure. Kiely's looks good, might have to get some food in there as well. Cheers for the help, looking forward to a big night out now :)

And a place dedicated to pies! Although their generator died so I couldn't have any. :(

That said Eddies was still sampled after Kielys. It's important to get the pre and post drinking soakage.

Anyone know anything about Colm O'Shea? Seems to be in his second year at the academy, but I haven't heard about him before now.

Ah, I was just looking at his profile and he'd already played a game an A and B&I game so thought he must be in his second. Maybe he was just brought in for those.

Either way, know know where he's from? Talent?

Played for Belvedere, same year as Macken. Didn't impress enough when he was young but seems to have caught the eye recently at club level. Never seen him play though, so don't know how good he is.

won a senior cup with belvedere as a first centre. has played first centre, second centre and wing for clontarf in ail but will now concentrate on playing first centre. played outhalf and scrum half from age 12 to 18. small, great passer, quick, agile, good offloader - plays a bit like a better passing smaller version of odriscoll.

Yeah Shaggy and O'Malley are injured. Surely Kearney is too though. He was in the initial squad and I thought he had a good season last season. I'm assuming he's injured and that's why Madigan is at 15???

ye cause kearney was named in the extended sqaud for this I just assumed he would be in the match day 15, so he may actually be injured.

better passing version of Brian O'Driscoll = very very exciting!

better passing version of Mick O'Driscoll = less exciting...

Best of luck to Madigan playing out of position. He is mainly a 10 imo but I think he has some versatility that will allow him to cover other positions and get game time off the bench.

Ruddock got Leinster try a few mins before HT Berquist converted. Rebels responded almost immediately.

Hudson's try was a great one, set up by Carr. Ruddock is an animal, he's huge and he's surprisingly quick. Berquist looks good, nice kicker.

Sounds like there's some encouraging stuff there. We won obviously, defence must have been somewhat decent for a scratch side, Berquist will end up being a very good signing I reckon too.

Anyone know how the scrums went?

Overall they were solid. Towards the end when we had McGrath and O'Connell on they started to give, but scrums weren't a worry.
