Just passed a guy walking towards Dublin on the Naas road carrying a cross on his shoulder like Jesus did, on his way to be crucified!

Bit of a cheater though, as his cross has a wheel attached to the bottom lol!

    Anyone else spot him?

Have attached pics, brightened up my day lol!

Its the wheel of an old Triumph, i believe.

That was the first thing that crossed my mind, not the idea that walking around with a cross was unusual

When I was out in Ocean City in the States, this man used to walk up and down the boardwalk everyday with a cross and a wheel at the end, he got some abuse!

I'm pretty sure I saw him on James St. a few weeks ago
Ah, Father. I see you put up the old cross.
    What's that all about?
People may be confused about where the parochial house is.
So I put a big cross up in the garden.
I hope they know it means I'm a priest and not some madman.
Some madman's put up a cross.

i saw him on o'connell street on Thursday i think. Wasn't too sure what was happening and although i was sober, i'd forgotton all about it until now. The wheel makes a mockery of the whole thing

I'm sure Jesus would be glad to see people weren't focusing too much on all that "love one another, be charitable" stuff, and were instead performing meaningless acts that do no good to anyone using a replica of the object he died on.

Good to see some people have their priorities straight.

Meh, it's fun to ridicule and all, but all I want is to know what yer man's up to?

Where's Paddy O'Gorman? He'd get the story out of him.

I'm not going to debate the merits or lack of merits of what he is doing

but in fairness it does seem to get peoples attention.....perhaps hes raising awareness..........................of something...an explanatory plaque or tabard would be helpful

He seems to have the technique nailed. I guess he's setting out to challenge the social stigmata surrounding the practice.

He'll find redemption a lot quicker if he ditches the cross, it's bound to be slowing him down!!:D
