Rowing Machine Advice

    Hi,

Can anyone advice me of what rowing machine would be a good buy? I have only ever used concept's when I was in the gym which are great, unfortunatly one of these would be way out of my price range for the moment. I'm hoping to get one for around 200 or 300 euro, new or second hand, I have spotted a few second hand ones which seem decent but are always sold quickly. I'm looking at some of the new magnetic ones for quiet running, are body sculpture or everlast ones any good? Or are they useless? Would I be better holding out and try pick up a second hand one? I'm not looking for anything too serious, I do weight training and just want a rower for a cardio work out and to build stamina.
Any advice or recommendations/ personal experiences would be hugely appreciated.

    Thanks a million

I know it slightly off topic and prob no use to the OP at all but have you the option of joining a rowing club? Use of the rowers when ever you want along with free weights and runs with like minded people? Also when you get the technique down you might also have the use of the boats?

    All for less than 200Euro

    Hi,

Cheers for reply, I had thought of it but I work shifts so would find it hard to get the time, I had also looked at buying a cheap kayak but same goes. Thats why I wanted a rower for home so I could squeeze a bit in anytime. Cheers though!

I'd advise holding out for a concept 2. Most of the rest are pretty rubbish.

There's plenty of decent rowers out there not just the C2

Cheers for the advice, I would like to hold out and get a Concept but I would be waiting a longtime!. Ive found a new kettler cambridge on offer for 375, they seem a good make??, I think I may just go with that and if it doesnt work out I can keep saving and sell it on. Cheers for the replies!

I cannot stress enough how dominant Concept 2 are in the market place.

There are many bikes but seriously there is only one rowing machine.

The water rower is not great - ok but not great - it's selling point was that it was a piece of furniture and quiet.

However now c2's are quiet as well.

For me I would only ever buy a concept 2.
