What has happened to AH?!

2 years ago when I was a young'un and new to AH it was like a mental asylum.

Then for the last few months it was like an old folks home, talk of religion, politics, illness.

Today, it is like old times, talk of arses, boobs etc.

I like the old times.

Really? I've been lurking since 2006 or so and I have to say AH is gradually getting worse. No "yore ma's", "blasting with .<whatever>." etc, etc.. Way too serious subjects are being discussed nowadays and literally a handful of old, decent AH warriors remained. I'd give it a bit more freedom, I wouldn't support total anarchy now, but a bit of a pi55take and relax would be recommended IMO.

I've only been lurking for about 18 months or so but it doesn't seem to have changed much to me.

I always liked that you'd get a mix of nonsense and serious stuff, just like normal conversations with friends. Depending on your mood you could pick and choose which threads to read or get involved in: ****ting in public or a thread that develops from an intelligent discussion about religion into a religious person and an atheist arguing back and forth with each other for twenty pages.

Maybe it's more serious than it used to be, but there's still enough silliness for those want it.

Im not sure if its changed or i have but i used to spend alot more time in after hours then i have recently, I dont enjoy it as much these days. Im just so sick of all the government bashing comments..... i couldnt really give a fúck about politics anymore its just that no matter what the thread is about somebody find a way to say something about fianna fail, bertie etc.

Off the top of my head take for example 'the stupidest thing you ever did' thread. I was waiting for sombody to say 'I voted for fianna fail' aaaaand they did...har har har

Its not funny, original or clever :mad:.

For me the best threads are the ones where people tell their own stories, like the awkward moment with a parent one or the stingy thread:). Threads looking for opinions on something (especially the church) just turn into big headwrecking arguments.
