I have tried to search for any other similar threads but I'm on my phone so I apologise if this has been done a million times before.

I really desperately need to lose weight. I know this but I am struggling and need help, mostly with what to eat for breakfast and lunch. Generally I don't have any time in the morning, I'm up and out as quickly as possible. I know porridge would be a good breakfast but it takes me forever to eat as I really dislike the taste of it and have to force myself

Last week I had a Nutri Grain bar for breakfast every morning, and baked beans on wholemeal toast with fruit for lunch everyday. The NG bar did keep me full until lunch, as I didn't get to eat it until 10 and lunch is at 1. I have access to a microwave in work but only get 30 mins so need something quick

I would appreciate any help as I'm really really struggling with my weight and it's getting me down. Thanks

for breakfast I just scramble 3 eggs. put the 3 eggs into a bowl and mix them up well, then just drop them into the saucepan with no milk or oil.. takes 2-3 minutes. when they're ready I just throw a little bit of ground cinnamon on top to taste. keeps me pretty full until lunchtime most days.

lunch I never know what to do, tin of tuna and some fruit or something.

Here's another way of having oats that I like - I use skim milk.

For lunch I usually go for salad with a protein or two - so smoked salmon, hard boiled egg, prawns, good quality ham, bufallo mozarella etc.

    Boiled eggs and grilled meats.

A couple of times a week I usually boil 4 to 6 eggs at a time, and then refrigerate them.
Do the same cooking in quantity with packs of bacon, chicken breasts, whatever really.

Invest in some decent plastic food container.
By doing this you will always have tasty, good quality home cooked produce in your fridge.

When you get up in the morning just bang a couple of slices of bread in to the toaster, and in two minutes you'll have a good nutritional breakfast in your hand.

Porridge for the win!. Have you tried a swirl of maple syrup through it?. Maybe a sprinkle of cinnamon?.

As for not enough time in the morning, come on, jump outta bed, we all have an eternity of lying on our backs ahead of us!.

IMO Nutri grain bar are for people climbing Mt. Everest, and those of us who like shiny wrappers!.

OP if you are looking to lose weight you should really read the stickies to get a basic understanding of nutrition. Without that you'll struggle to shift the weight. Most of what's marketed to us as healthy isn't, like the nutrigrain bars. Ditch them immediately. Beans and toast wouldn't be great either.

Eggs are a good option in the morning. Lean protein and fresh fruit and veg is generally your friend at every meal. Avoid grains and starchy veg like potatoes.

The really frustrating thing is that I have done lots of reading, and from my job I would have a reasonable understanding too. It's just when it comes to applying it to my own life I really suck at it. I've heard people saying food is an addiction and I can totally see why. My wedding is in a year, I have a huge amount of weight I need to lose to be healthy and how I would like to look for my wedding but I just seem to not be able to do it.

The eggs seem like a good bet, they're nice and quick and I do notice that they keep me full whenever I have them

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying tobe critical because ive been there myself, but there is nothing to stop you from losing weight but you yourself. If you put the effort in it will come off.

I guess the question you need to ask is do you really want to lee the weight and if so, why aren't you following through with it. From there, once you educate yourself on healthy eating, the rest should follow if you are willing to stick with it
