Cutting out refined sugar/carbohydrates

I've been feeling fairly ****-y lately and am putting it down to the excessive amount of sugar I eat. I don't add sugar to tea but I still end up consuming more refined sugar than any human needs- pasta, crackers, sweets, biscuits etc.

What are the main things I need to watch out for in food?

Also- what if the cravings become too much- will I just have to go cold turkey?

I would first go cold turkey on the sweet stuff. It's hard but worth it as once you get over it you won't have the daily cravings for a sweet "pick me up". Once you have that nailed you can start on the bread, pasta etc
