I am a relatively new member of Boards. I love this site, have been viewing it for years but only recently actually signed up and started posting. One thing that has always struck me is the number of posts some people build up.

My question is how much time do people devote to this site, mostly when I read a thread I can be sure to see the same people popping up at some point - on threads that cover many different subjects. Don't get me wrong, their input is always informed and well thought out but one person I worked out would need to post an average of 16 posts a day for the last 4 years to get to where their numbers are.

I am intrigued to know how do people get such high post counts!!

back when boards was young most people that posted weren't absolute spamwhores, but that all changed and now you get many people throwing down 20-30 posts a day or something ridiculous like that

I do actually remember when all this was fields.

You had snow? Lucky. And got to walk to school?

In my day we had raining fire instead of snow and had to crawl to school on our bellies because the government had banned walking on weekdays.

Kids today don't know they're born!

Any forum where the users have 40,000-50,000 plus posts are to be avoided like the plague. So far i do not think i have seen any posters on Boards with that sort of posts count.

I've posted more than 300 in a week and a half but my average is way lower.

For me it depends on whether the boss is in or out. He's got two weeks holidays up from next week \o/

16 posts a day is nothing. I was on another forum and a poster had an average of 150 posts per day. This wasn't a troll who signed up to spam for the weekend but someone who posted that much for months on end.

High post counts don't mean anything. It is annoying though when you don't have lots of posts and someone thinks that this means you cannot be capable of having an opinion different to theirs. Obviously being new to a forum means you must be new to life itself and should therefore bow down to their superior views

For some strange reason, when I'm hungover (which is regularly), posting on boards is about the only thing I'm capable of. If I ever give up the sauce, my posts per day count will plummet!

OP bear in mind some people (like me) post things like pics or videos to specialist pics/video threads, so not just "talk" posts. Posting photographs on a "regular" basis has done wonders for my post count :)
