If you want to lose fat, you need to have a kcal deficit.

If you want to gain muscle, you need to have a kcal surplus.

You can't do both, so which do you want more? If you want the latter you'll also need to start training with weights.

If you decide to try and lose fat, eat 1g of protein per lb of bodyweight - it'll help stop you losing any muscle you do have. You can use the whey to achieve this figure.

As for a supplement to encourage muscle growth - there are none. You need to eat properly, train hard and get sufficient sleep.

    What Hamley said...

..but, at 16st i would consider you fat. There's your priority right there.

Think you're confusing body fat % with BMI, BMI is just a simple calculation using height and weight. Its a simple calculation but its accuracy is limited especially when measuring BMI of athletes or those with a lot of muscle mass.

...I'm assuming the OP doesn't fall into either category based on his posting, for the record. He's probably trained, is fit and carries some muscle, but not enough to distort BMI readings significantly.

There are very few people over 100/kg/16 stone who are athletic enough, or carrying enough muscle for BMI not to apply to them. The ones that do, got their by hard work and having a good handle on their training and diet, I doubt they look for basic advice on forums.
The guys weren't trying to put the OP down, but unless there is a mistake in his OP, I would also consider him overweight.

i got my bmi done by a gym instructor in limerick, it was 22.5, the reason I wanna lose weight is because I carry a little extra weight around my stomach like most men do! so I have somebody on this telling me thats not my correct BMI who hasnt even seen me! who should I listen too??? I think the gym instructor in limerick!the reason i looked for advice was because even wit all my hard training I still always have bit of a gut, thats why i wanted to lose weight!

Well don't listen to your trainer, because if he's managed to f*ck up such a basic calculation I'd hate to see what sorta mess he'd create when he was training you.

OP, if you want I can lock it, but i see no reason to delete it.

BMI is a basic calculation that you can do yourself using weight and height, no one needs to be able to see you to calculate your bmi.

Is there any chance this guy actually means he was told his bodyfat % is 22.5? Sounds possible for a 6'0 100kg'er, depending. Lots of people at that weight aren't 'fat', lots are too but you couldn't assume without seeing like.
Nothing to do with me being the same height and weight :pac:

darts is spot on - based on the OP i'd imagine he could be a 22.5% bf rather than BMI of 22.5

as for a supplement - have a look at Pro Matrix from Nutrition X.
It gives protein (througha blended protein) to retain muscle but helps burn fat with the L-Carnitine

Otherwise the other supplements I'd recommend for kickboxing are

fish oil, multi vit and a joint support
if you are really bollocked then some zma can help aid your sleep for recovery

but none of them are essential

The difference between BMI and BF% was already point out ages ago. As was the fact that its based on height and weight, and that nobody needs to see you. You may or may not be 22.5% bodyfat, I've no idea how this trainer calculated this.

If you weren't so insistant that you were 22.5 BMI and we were all wrong. You might of realised that you got all the advice you need in the first reply. Protein, fish oil, multi vits etc are all well and good, but the fact that they are missing from your diet is not your biggest concern right now.

Those who took the time to educate you on the difference between BMI and BF% were being extremely helpful....
