Anyone else confused by the name changes on the Canal+ sport channels?

Canal+ Weekend showed a Twilight movie last night so this will probably be liable to show anything as time goes on.

It is a shame that they are sticking to one HD sport channel though.

So they rename canal+ 2 to Canal+ Gol,
what happened to the existing Canal+ Gol?
Not sure I ever seen sport on the CANAL + channel

That's the part I don't understand. Canal+ Gol already existed but they renamed that to Canal+ Weekend. It was really just one change but they went the long way about it.

I have seen some NBA and French football on Canal+ over the last year. Not a whole lot but that looks like it is going to change

According to their site the Stoke v Chelsea game is live on Canal+ on Sunday Aug 14th. Two other EPL games that I notice they are showing on the opening weekend are Liverpool v Sunderland and Newcastle v Arsenal - both on Saturday on Canal+ Gol so I guess no HD for those two.

Sadly so. The Polish league takes preference at the weekends. But at least they are showing 5 games on the opening weekend. Not a bad return for a cheap sub. fingers crossed they keep it up for the season as they didn't bother showing a lot of ESPN/Sky Sports games last season.

Noticed tonight during French liga game that Canal+sports HD has now two audio streams. The 2nd stream has no polish commentry. Just staduim sound. Hope they do the same for premiership league next weekend.

It was possible to do that with Premier League matches last season but only on the SD Canal+ Sport channel. The audio pid had to be changed manually.

My year long Cyfra subscription I bought from satsklep is due to expire in a couple of days. I had a look at renewing through satsklep but they seem to be only offering a six month package.

I did a bit of digging through google and it looks like the prepaid packages have been changed.

Yep seems to be the case. I just renewed for 13 months last month. Annoyed now as like look of new package offered even if its slightly more and only 6 months

I did a bit of translation and it looks like the new card is for 5 months and the current month. Does that mean it would be best to order the card at the start of the month?

I think I'll fire off an email to satsklep to confirm.

So I got an email back from satsklep. There are only two options and both are six month cards.

Heres what Rafal from Satsklep said:

"Good afternoon,
yes, from september we have got only this two cards in offer. The card can be activated by us or you can activated this card when you got it. The subscription is for 6 moths (for example, when you buy this card today it will be working september + 5 next full months"

I had a look at the Cyfra webpage and the price satsklep charge is the exact same as you would pay buying directly from Cyfra in Poland. I went ahead and ordered Cyfra+ Pakiet KOMPACT for €118. It looks like a good deal for all the channels you get.

The Cyfra+ Pakiet Start card also looks like very good value for €71 for six month card. It looks like you get more channels for less money. I paid about €170 euro last year for just the five CANAL+ channels.

It is certainly a better price. It is just a pity that the HD channels are limited with these new options.

I bought the 19 month Pakiet Optimum Canal+ one a few weeks ago. I might have considered this card instead, if it had been available, as a "tide me over" option.

I hope Satsklep will be able to add to their product list a bit more. It looks like they won't carry Polsat any more, the Cyfra options are now down to two (excellent value, IMO) cards..but i liked the idea that i could get HBO, Cinemax, National Geographic HD etc if I wanted to.

I pick up the Canal + Gol station fine but have terrible trouble tuning in Canal +

So is this just me or anyone else, do es it just require a bit more LNB fine tuning?

I would say you need more fine tuning. Robin Hood is playing fine here on CANAL+ HD.

Good news on the launch of Gol HD and Weekend HD. According to the link they launch on Oct 28th:). Finally EPL in HD. Up to now only the 1:30pm Sunday kick offs have been in HD on Canal+ HD. Wish they would show more Sat 3pm games though. None this weekend!

A heads up for anyone with a Cyfra+ HD card

Canal+ Gol and Canal+ Weekend HD are testing in DVB-S2 Mediaguard 3 & Nagravision 3 on 11411.00MHz, pol.H SR:27500 FEC:8/9 SID:14203

Sadly I am unable to see for myself.

Has anyone been able to tune in Canal+ Gol HD and Canal+ Weekend HD?

I tried searching the above transponder but I am not getting great signal readings and a search doesnt find them.

Maybe my dish and motor needs realigning but I am already getting really strong signals for the other Canal+ channels at 11278 V 27500.

Found them. They are called test1, test2, test3. Only test 1 is clearing for me and it's Canal+ Film.

test2 and test3 are the HD sports channels but are not clearing with a Cyfra+ Pakiet KOMPAKT card.

I can't get these at all. I even done a full sat scan but nothing. Are they still there?

Are you using these settings:

11411.00MHz, pol.H SR:27500 FEC:5/6

They are on a strong transponder. Im getting 90% quality on these channels whereas i get 80% on other cyfra HD channels. A full sat scan may not work on some receivers. Blind scan should work or enter above settings. Remember they are s2.

This is really strange. I get the other Cyfra+ channels in at over 90% but I can't get a sniff of these test channels. I have tried these:

DVB-S2 / 11411 / 27000 / Horizontal / 5/6 / 8PSK
AND
DVB-S2 / 11411 / 27000 / Horizontal / 5/6 / QPSK
AND
The same with FEC 8/9

I can't get anything at all. Really, really strange. Vu+ Uno - I might try my DM800 to see if it's a box issue.

EDIT: Seems my box has a known transponder scan issue. Back comes the dodgy DM800 for the HD matches so

Yep. It's a known problem with the Vu+ Uno by the looks of it. Their dev's are working on a fix.

Cyfra have more test channels on that transponder now. For the HD channels coming in november. Anyone clearing Gol HD? Am not.

No not clearing for me either. Only 2 days til launch. Hopefully they will clear then on our existing cards!

I e-mailed Satsklep to see if existing cards would clear Gol HD and Weekend HD and they emailed back saying that we would have to wait until the launch at the weekend to see.

Got them,
had to delete all old channels stored with freq of 11411.
A rescan then brought in the cyfra + channels.
All clearing on a new Cyfra+ Multipakiet - Canal+ HD

All the new HD channels on 11411 are clearing for me on both my Cyfra+ cards,
Cyfra+ multipakiet + Canal+ HD and Cyfra+ Pakiet KOMPAKT.

There a quite a few Canal+ channels in HD on 11411 besides Gol and Weekend clearing.

You need to delete these and retune again. Cyfra changed something yesterday.

Yes they did, which means I am back to not being able to receive them. They moved back to DVBS2 which mean my UNO can't pick them up. Still waiting for a firmware update to fix this.....

GolHD and Weekend HD are the only ones that seem to be active at present. Ok for me. Mrs is happy enough, didn't tell her its handy for the soccer though!
