^ based on the pic, Jake has taken Charlie's place and Kutcher is in Jake's spot....is there some hidden meaning to this?
It's also a good oppertunity to film a brand new opening sequence, instead of having to morph young jake into old jake.

Also, Kutcher is wearing a Red bow-tie, while Alan and Jake are wearing black. Maybe this is to show he's the outsider or somethin?

From what I've read they're going to kill off Charlie in a car accident based on real life events*. The house is then put up for sale because Alan can't afford it leading to Kutcher buying it and allowing Alan and Jake to live with him.

*Supposedly they're basing it off Charlie Sheen's real life beverley hills accident but I'm not sure

I've feeling this will become a textbook example of greed before quality (both Sheen's demands and the producers' insistence on keeping the show going even if they have to shoehorn a new lead in). Not that Two & a Half Men was ever outstanding or anything.

What will happen is, despite what people think of the show, Everyone will watch the 1st couple of episodes just to see what it's like, the majority of people will most likely be under-whelmed and eventually leading to the show being cancelled.

It's the 'Scrubs Med School' all over again.. Producers need to know when a show has run its course..

I'd like to think that, but if the network had any sense they would have just cancelled it when Sheen was finished. Seems more like they're continuing it (1) because it's a cash-cow and (2) to save face (we don't need Charlie Sheen to keep the show successful). Not that I'd have advocated giving into Sheen's demands or anything. The show should have been let die while it still had some dignity. Even if Sheen was still there the show would have hardly lasted more than two more seasons at any rate.

To be honest I thought Scrubs Med School had potential once Braff left it, but that's another thing altogether.

I've got more information on the shrouded-in-secrecy ninth-season premiere of CBS' comedy Two and a Half Men, which will feature the debut of new star Ashton Kutcher and which I now hear will be a two-parter. I have been able to confirm that Charlie Sheen's character Charlie Harper is indeed dead and the season premiere will feature his funeral. Charlie's girlfriends will come back for the occasion, and his house indeed will be put on the market. The episode will feature potential buyers coming to see the house (as I reported earlier, the list is expected to include real-life celebrities and stars from Men co-creator Chuck Lorre's other series), with Ashton Kutcher among them. However, I hear he will not be the rightful owner of Charlie Harper's digs by the end of the premiere episode, with the storyline expected to be extended into Episode 2. As part of CBS and Men producer Warner Bros. TV's efforts to keep details of the premiere under wraps, I hear the cast has been asked to sign non-disclosure agreements, something potential audience members for the Friday taping will be required to do too.

I decline from reading spoilers with most shows but I've made an exception in this case.

My thoughts:

Seems a little drastic, they could just as easily let have had Charlie simply run off with Rose, never be heard from again and let that be the end of it. Alan needs an income source, so Kutcher is taken on as a tenant. Simples.

I'll admit I'm skeptical, despite being a huge fan. Kutcher characters in the past are clichéd, repetitive and one dimensional plus his scruffy look in the promos doesn't bode well.

I don't watch the show but I can never understand the hate people have for certain shows either.

If a show has a following, I generally hope it does well so that it's fans get to see more of it. Just because it's not my cup of TV tea, doesn't mean other people don't enjoy it.

The obvious exception is of course braindead fake reality-tv stuff like The Hills and Jersey Shore. The poor tweens watching it actually think it's genuine.It's worse than wrestling.....atleast everyone knows thats fake. That rubbish is killing good scripted tv and the sooner people wise up and stop watching it, the better.

Looks like alll eyes are on 2.5 tonight, everyone wondering about the new guy, Charlie's death + the all important ratings. I think it'll take 4/5 weeks to really get an idea of the ratings myself as tonight is a two parter.
