Going to be in Galway for the weekend with a group of mates. Were planning on heading to the races on the saturday. Im just wondering what is the best way to get to it? Staying near Salthill!

    Cheers!

Well get the bus into eyre square and there are shuttle buses going to the racecourse from eyre square, its only a few euro return and worth your while :)

It's more than a few euro return.

I drove there and back again yesterday. Took no time at all. maybe 15-20 minutes to get in, and 20-25 minutes to get back. The system works.

Parking was 2 euro, so if you have a car and are planning not to drink, its waaay cheaper. I think the bus is about 10euro return.

Aye, It's €9, to be exact.

Which has a nice ring to it ... exactly the number of the other bus that costs 1/3 of the price, and goes all the way over the weeeknd. Details here.

Even better, if you're getting the bus in from Salthill ask the driver for a day-pass, and the whole journey, both ways, will only be €3.50.
