Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Great pictures, but it was my understanding that you can't charge "money" for the use of an aircraft that's registered in the USA for hire of charter in Ireland, much less the docks in Galway during Race Week.

I dont see a ''N'' reg on any of the Helicopters in the pics.....

No US reg's here. Three helicopters they were using were EI-ZZZ, EI-MIK and EI-LOW.

Guy on radio yesterday morning from Galway Airport saying they had only 100 movements this year for the whole week compared to a few years ago when they had a record 800 movements in one day.

My first time in Galway for the races in about 7 years, usually off on holiday. There were hardly any helicopters compared to the last time I was here.

I don't think it was that much. I heard the record was 360 landings out in Ballybrit on Hurlde Day 2007.

Although if you count movements as take offs and landings it would bring it closer to the 800 mark.

Great photos OP. You did well to capture the twit on the phone in the second one. Thankfully, one of the last of the Celtic Tiger breed. I'll bet he was talking to nobody on the other end though !

The state of the Docks, it looks like a tsunami passed through!

Maybe the crowd who run the docks have the same attitude as the overstaffed airport.
Airport will look like that soon if they dont cop on .
