The first thing you need to do is work out how many calories a day you should be eating. All the info to do this is in the stickies.

At first glance your diet is mediocre, but we have no idea what your portion sizes are. If you're eating clean healthy food but still eating a calorie surplus you're going to put on weight.

How long have you been working out and watching what you eat?

Please dont give up. Thing is you may not be losing weight but you are most definitley toning up... the weight loss will happen... count on it... been there. I used to look at the scales and give because I got so pissed off... but this time round I have kept at it... ok the weight loss hasn't happended as quicjly as I wished but I feel a damn site better, feel better and I know as my fitness levels increase I will do a lot more exercise. Have a chat with your instructor... it apperas that you are doing a lot of aerobic exercise which increases your fitness levels but not necessarily decreasing body weight. I work with a girl who is 168cm and weighs 11stone 4lb and she looks dynamite...

As has been said, I think you need to be a little more specific with your diet, with portion sizes, calorie intake, etc.
For example, with your shepherd's pie, do you use lean mince, or the stuff that's nearly 40% fat?
How much bread do you have with your lunch?
With toast as your snack, how many slices would you have? What kinda bread is it? What do you put on it?
When it comes down to it, losing weight is a case of calories in versus calories out, so you need to go and work that stuff out for yourself!

    Hi OP,

.....Is there anything i can do that would make it easy for me to calorie count??????

Set up a fitday account. You enter all the foods you have eaten in a day and it tells you calories also breaks down into Carbs, Protein etc. Is a great tool and once you use it for a few days you more or less have all your meals entered in (as we all generally have a small enough staple of go to meals) so gets easier and easier to use.

Well done so far and keep it up. You're only at it 2 months??? Way too soon to see major results but as replica said you are toning the body. You seem to be taking it nice and steady, which is of course the proper way to lose weight so stick at it, and even though it may seem like ages away but you'll see and feel the change by Christmas. I wish I was as dedicated.

I think your diet is overly concerned with fat content, when it's the carb content you should be watching (especially in the evening)

Cut out the rice and shepards pie in the evenings. In my opinion, they're what's slowing or halting your progress.

Have your fish with peas instead or a veg mix (roasted carrots and peppers with sweet chilli sauce is a nice alternative). Omlettes are also good evening meals.

So basically cut out the evening carbs and you'll see faster progress.

Funny you say that i am addicted to sweet chilli sauce but i was thinking it might be full of sugar????

So no carbs in the evening but i could have some carbs at lunch????? Gonna stock up on me veggies today! If i buy the frozen mixed veg and steam them is that the same or is it cheating??????

I wouldn't be too concerned with the sugar content, just don't use loads ;)

Yup, just get whatever's easiest for you. Frozen is fine, and it's nice and convenient. Have some carbs at lunch for sure, as you'll need that energy to get through the day. The idea is that when you're home and relaxing you don't really have the need for the carbs like you would during the day, so it's good to omit them.

I haven't taken any rice/potatoes/pasta/bread etc after 4pm for a good while now (about 3 months), and it's definitely having the desired effect.

I put the sauce on my steamed fish and its delish!!!!!!

Ok so frozen is fine as long as i dont eat carbs after 4...... so i could have steamed fish and veg or chicken fillet, stuff like that?

Have you been working out also????

Exactly, chicken fillet/ fish, even a steak if you fancy it on the odd occasion, and frozen veg are fine.

I workout about 4-5 times a week, first thing in the morning so obviously that's helping as well, but it's the diet that really makes the difference!

    Cheers,

I work early in the morn so i usually work out 4-5 times a week in the evenings, classes like spin, aqua aerobics, step and bums and tums..... I love the classes as i get really bored in the gym!
