    Hey folks,

    just wondering about this.

    http://www.puritan.com/weight-management-072/anatherm-heat-xtf-032688?NewPage=1

I was told that green tea extract helps speed up the metabolism. I went into Holland and Barretts, and told them I was trying to lose some extra weight that I couldnt shake despite running twice a week and soccer twice a week and healthy eating.

So I asked for the extract and the sales person there seemed to know what they were talking about and recommended the above.

I'm just wondering, seen as I was out of my depth there.. what you think of the ingredients? Are these natural and healthy or will they make any difference at all? Did I just waste my money or..?

    Thanks very much :)

To be honest I think you'd be better off reading the stickies here and maybe posting up an adverage daily diet, you may be doing something to hinder your weight loss.

The tablets may help but diet is more important.

I'll consider your advice, but just on those ingredients, what are your opinions?

That supplement will have next to NO effect on your weight loss.

Contrary to your belief, i can almost garuntee you that it is your diet that is hindering you.

If you post up your stats and a typical days food intake including all foods/liquids that pass your lips (be very honest!), then you will get great feedback here.

Reading the ingredients : drink 1 cup of coffee, another mug of green tea and take a multivit and you will be pretty damn close to getting the same thing from that tablet.

I'm not trying to be disrespectful here to anybody, but I would be surprised if staff in H&B were all that knowledgeable about health and nutrition. I doubt you get that many people there with any sort of a qualification or training. They may sound knowledgeable about there products and what their supposed to do for you, and I'm sure they are trying to be helpful and mean it with their best intentions, but I imagine they are only repeating what it says on the packet or what they've been told by their managers/sales teams.

E.g. a few years back, I worked in an off licence. After a few weeks, I was happily recommending wines to people to go with certain foods, or suit certain tastes, and sounded like a real wine buff.

To this day, I honestly can't say if cabernet sauvignon is a white or red, and I don't really care either. I was just able to get by of what I heard the other guys in the shop say and from reading the advertising posters/promo materials attached!
