    http://www.digitalspy.ie/movies/news/a331489/kristen-stewart-in-snow-white--the-huntsman-first-look.html

The first look at Kristen Stewart in Snow White & the Hunstman has been unveiled.
The images show Stewart's Snow White wearing armour and carrying a sword and shield.
Nick Frost, Ray Winstone, Toby Jones, Ian McShane, Johnny Harris, Bob Hoskins, Eddie Marsan and Brian Gleeson will play the movie's eight dwarfs.
Speaking at Comic-Con, producer Joe Roth compared the fantasy project to Lord of the Rings, saying that audiences can expect an action film: "Our movie, I like to think, is on the scale of Lord of the Rings, in terms of size and scope and appetite - a tough, rough, active male-female picture."
Universal has also released character images of the Queen (Charlize Theron), the Prince (Sam Claflin) and the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth). Snow White & the Huntsman will open in cinemas in June 2012.

    .. WHY GOD WHY?!

Fantastic cast. But is it at all possible for Kristen Stewart to not look like she's about to cry/throw up in a picture?! >_<

Nope that is her standard look. I mean a had the very unfortunate experience of having to sit through a trailer for the last Twilight film and I mean there is a scene of her getting married and she has this dead / I am going to puke look in her face.

To change a Harry Potter Hermione quote " She has the acting range of a teaspoon"

I be avoiding this film like the plague. I know there is another one in production also with Lilly Collins which is again a more non -Disney version but not as hard core as the above one is promoting itself as.

    One word $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

They want to hone in on the whole Twilight crowd.

Also it is very interesting that up to 4 leading men refused or dropped out of the project. Easy to guess why.

LOTR? I guess that means loads of CGI battles and crap. I think I'll pass. I'm far more interested to see Tarsem's version. I mean, the guy who directed The Fall versus eh who?

Chris Hemsworth is the only reason I'd watch this though I get the feeling that his role is going to simply be Thor 2.0. Looking at the poster I don't see a hunter with an axe but rather Thor carrying Mjölnir.

Hemsworth is definitely on the one to watch list, I thought he was fantastic in Thor, genuine likeability, be interesting to see how his career goes.

I would see it just for the 8 dwarves.

I note that Snow White's shield displays the white tree of Gondor.

Apart from the Twilight series I think Kirten Stewart is a fine actress. Pretty sure that's the white tree of gondor on her shield!

There's another snow white movie coming out next year directed by Tarsem Singh who made The Cell and The Fall, should be a lot different to this version!! Here's the first image from that:

Seriously? Think this just about sum her up for me..

Dire dire actress.. and comes across as a bit of an grumpy arsebag in interviews.

Really not a whole lot likeable about the girl IMO.

I dont like Stewart at all, she just seems completely nonplussed by any film she's in, like she doesnt even want to be there, I wanted to punch her in Adventureland, and otherwise enjoyable little movie

I haven't seen any of the Twilight films, but I thought Stewart was very good in Into the Wild and Panic Room.

Alice in Wonderland alarm bells are going off in my head looking at those pictures. Why oh why are they trying to 'epicify' stories that don't need it?

Maybe these guys could make an appearance in the film...

She totally ruined Adventureland for me. Did not know she had a role in the film needless to say when she did appear I was sorely tempted to walk out of the cinema.

People think she is great but she plays the same role over and over again. There may be slight variations in each role but basically the same mammerisms and facial expressions are required. So easy to play your moody self. She has a limited acting range. How she gets critical acclaim I do now know. She is carried by her co stars and out-acted the majority of time. Maybe becasue she does small films which tend to be looked on more favourable by critics or that she has managed to cozy up to Sean Penn.

Mind you I think I actually saw her smile recently in pics obviously that media training she was apparently forced into taking must be working slightly. Next would be to work on stringing a coherent setence /speech together.

I expect to be bomabrded now by her fangirls.

Both Collins and Stewart are terrible choices for the role of Snow White

Apart from Adventureland everything else she starred in in betqween the twilight films went straight to dvd

I totally agree but it seems studios are unwilling to accept this and keep casting her in the hopes of the film bringing in the Twilight tween market.

Unfortunatly for us, due to this we have to put up with her in films.:(

That is true but when she pops up in a otherwise good film such as Adventureland it either ruins it or one has to take the decision not to watch it.

I know a couple of frineds of mine who love the book On the Road and were looking forward to seeing the film but as soon as they heard she was cast, well they are seriously re-thinking of going. I told them try to block her out as hopefully her role is not that big.

So there's a trailer out for Snow White & the Huntsman!

Maybe its because Kirsten Stewart was hardly in it at all but I actually think it looks really promising

If nothing else some of the imagery looks great and Hemsworth is pretty perfect for those kind of roles.

I don't know. It looks like a hopelessly generic fantasy action film with the general plot of Snow White shoddily stapled on.

The milk bath shot was visually arresting. Otherwise, I couldn't give a **** about this on the basis of the trailer.

I thought chris hemsworth looked like pierce brosnan in those photos.

I thought the trailer looked crappy tho.

    Awwwww hell no.

Seriously, she looks the same in her "action" shots as when she is meant to be in the coma awaiting a kiss. The girl is more mono-expressioned than Bruce Willis.

Any film that implies that Kristen Stewart has the potential to become more beautiful than Charlize Theron is a logical failing of epic proportions.

    The female Shia Lebouff?

Glad I wasn't the first to pick up on that :pac:
Or the white tree of Gondor :o

    Charlize Theron:eek:

    :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Screw Snow White, Hail Theron! She almost sounds like she's saying the Green Lantern oath there at the end.

Here's the trailer for Tarsem's effort. Didn't want to start another snow white related thread.

I think the other one looks like a masterpiece compared to that. Has Tarsem thrown in the towel? First Immortals and now that, I don't thing THe Fall was a masterpiece by any stretch(although I'm aware a few do) but at least it wasn't generic hollywood blockbuster fare and the visiuals were stunning. I'm sure the visuals won't be bad in that either but a lot of whats in that trailer just looks like a soundstage.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Arts Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 30,020 CMod ✭✭✭✭johnny_ultimate

Oh dear. Or should I say snow dear: whoever wrote the script for that deserves a swift boot in the ass, frankly.

Doesn't even look visually arresting (HI HO, HI HO). Then again, I'd be with you on The Fall - a triumph of cinematography, but the storytelling was all over the gaff. Looks like studio interference and high budgets aren't Tarsem's strong suit.

How Kirsten Stewart is getting any work after the Twilight franchise is beyond me. She's abysmal.

Bad as it looks at least it is more or less the Snow White Story. that said right bow I'd be more inclined to see the huntsman because Charlize Theron >>>>>>> Julia Roberts

I think a modern revision could be cool. Folk tales can be so relentlessly dark when Disney aren't involved. I couldn't give two craps even if they have the entire Twilight cast in it tbh.

    (Rupert Sanders)

I saw the trailer for it before The Hunger Games and it looks brilliant! Super cast and it looks to be an interesting take on the fairytale, taking it from Disneyesque back to it's Grimm origin!

Can't wait! I actually saw a different version to this trailer and it was even better.
