If Queally gets the tactics right and Frankel settles it's all over before it starts.

    Frankel by 3 Lengths.

Think they have ruined Frankel and he will finish last followed by a quick retirement and an unsuccessful career at stud.

Just had a look there, Zoffany hasn't run at 1m before so I'm weary about him. I'll be most likely going for Dick Turpin (16/1) over Zoffany (14/1) e/w.

hardly ruined frankel, just got tactics all wrong last time and he still beat a top class field, frankel will win this with a bit to spare if the goodwood track doesn't trouble him

His last two runs have been over a mile,2nd in two group ones.

    Frankel
Canford , Frankel would have to be step up on his last performance to finish ahead of Canford .

    Frankel
Canford is the superior horse and I think he'll win it handily enough.

    Yes, it's not that unlikely.
"Finish last" Horse has had two unnecessarily hard races and some day soon will cry enough.
"Quick retirement" If he runs bad next week then it's 5/6 your pick whether he is ever seen again.
"Unsuccessful career at stud" Obviously this is a shot in the dark but given some temperament issues and I personally didn't like the look of him in Newmarket then wouldn't be a huge surprise if he's a flop.

Why wouldn't you do that? If your convinced the horse will finish last its the easiest money you will ever make

Yeah but why would I give you a price when I could lay him far shorter on betfair/betdaq?

If you lay at a higher price, more customers, more profit

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53 ✭✭R0UF

There will be plenty of backers without me having to go 2/1 or 3/1.

Do you think he will win?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,408 ✭✭✭ft9

    Another
I think he will yeah. In saying that, a lot depends on what kind of a notion Queally gets into his head, he could do anything.

I wouldn't see any great value though at that price 6/5 I think, I don't think I will have a bet.

    Looking forward to it...

I agree with R0UF on this. I think Frankel has had two unnecessarily hard races and it may have left a mark on him.

He was out on his feet in Ascot and while people are eager to blame the jockey Quelly came out after and said he was riding to orders which lead me to believe that it was expected that he wouldn't tire on the run in.

I also doubt the form of his wins to date and it will be interesting to how the classic generation fare against Canford who has to be up there with one of the best milers around.

    Can't wait :D

I wont be disappointed if your right about him not winnin the race anyway.
I wouldn't touch any horse at that price, it's far to short to be worth it for me.

    Frankel
i voted for canford but i think it all depends on how frankel is ridden.

if quelley rides him right then it should make for a good spectacle and we'll know for definite then how good frankel is.

Frankel is quite simply a freak of nature , i have never seen any horse quicken up so early in their races and then just stay on to the line like he does . A 3/4 length beating of zoffany is just not good enough form to beat the likes of Canford , who you have to fancy to be well able for the likes of zoffany . Hope Frankel wins , but it will take more than he has shown in his last run to do it .

It seems the big two must have scared away most of the other possible runners. But in a Group 1 race there would be significant prize money even for finishing third so I'm a little surprised that there's only 4 runners.

Canford Cliffs is a step up from anything Frankel has faced before so this will go a long way to telling us whether Frankel is really all he's cracked up to be. I'm going for Canford to win it, but the tiny field of 4 runners spoils it a bit as it will be very tactical and we mightn't get a truly run race.

With 8 lbs allowance I think Frankel should win this if he is ridden correctly. Quelly has been a little quick to pull the trigger sometimes and if he isn't spot on tomorrow he will be beaten. Heart fully behind canford though and would love him to win. Should be epic.

He'll find it hard to give Frankel 8 pounds though. That's alot in a 1 mile race. If he can give Frankel 8 pounds and still beat him it will be some performance.

weight for age? who needs weight for age?!

What was the allowance? 8 lbs? If they had added 8 pounds he'd probably have won that! :p

I was going to quote your posts before the race but like Sir henry i felt letting the horse do the talking would be more effective.

Frankel is a freak and i've supported him his whole career on this forum, Delighted!! :D

Frankel was awesome, there can be no doubts anymore about him. He is easily the best horse in training by a country mile. CC couldnt get near him and simply isnt in the same league.

Isn't Frankel built like a four year old though. I don't really think 9lbs would make up for what Frankel just did but still 9lbs is a lot of weight to be giving to a horse that doesn't necessarily deserve it.

On a more conventional track and on level weights, Frankel still pulls clear.

Henry cecil summed it up after the race "I knew he'd win easily i just didn't want to say it out of respect to CC"
