On the way to work this evening, heading Northbound on the M7, just passing over the N18/M7, and there was a car on the southbound side of the bridge stopped in the overtaking lane!!

Just couldnt believe my eyes, how do these people get licences and are allowed drive on the road??

All depends why it was stopped really...if for no good reason I'd agree with you. The only reason you'd stop is if it was an extreme situation.

    What an omission! :p
From extreme emergency stop to down right insanity in a couple of posts.
    I wonder what caused it.

There was on example of this on Road Wars and it turned out the person had forgotten to take medicine and was totally out of it and ended up crashing into a car at full speed going the wrong way down a highway.

There was work going on at the tunnel last night and they has a contrflow in place, could this have lead to the driver making their way onto the wrong carriageway?

There's a big thread on exactly this sort of thing over in Soc/Infrastructure/Roads:
    Bizarre/Illegal things on motorways

    Crazy stuff happens everywhere.

On Tuesday I passed a guy in a Munich Registered Black BMW525d reversing down the Autobahn as he had missed his exit.

    Lunatic.

I wouldn't have a clue who to ring, does, that kind of thing merit ringing 112 ?
