Most disgusting fast food/restaurant experiences

Was in Manchester a few weeks ago and was in a random chippy. Placed my order and was just looking around when I saw one of the 'chefs' hocking up flem into his hands! I was like 'surely he's going to wash them!?' He casually wiped it in a tissue and proceeded to make up a burger! Couldn't believe my eyes! Thankfully it wasn't my order but only that I was STARVIN i wouldnt have eaten my chips (they were made by someone else thank god - looking back she was probably practicing the same food hygiene standards though:( ah well what's done is done!)

Got me wondering do any of you have any horrible observations/experiences in fast food places or restaurants? The more disgusting the better!!

I used to deliver frozen foods into restaurants/take aways etc and seen a lot of things behind the scenes.....i remember one place used to fry up their burgers in the morning and put them out the back on a wire grill to cool down, ive seen those burgers covered in flies, wasps and various other flying critters. Strangely enough that place has since closed down:rolleyes:

The world's biggest and busiest McDonald's is to be built in London.

    mc-web_1951451c.jpg

It will be one of four new McDonald's within the Olympic park in Stratford, east London.

The flagship outlet will seat 1,500 customers, ten times the average size of a restaurant in Britain. It will be 30,000 square feet, making it larger than the current largest McDonald's in the world, which is in Orlando, Florida.

Amazingly, one of the new McDonald's will be within the Athletes' Village.

The company estimates that it will sell 1.75m meals at the four Olympic outlets during the month of the 2012 London Olympics (from 27 July to 12 August 2012). This will work out at about one in four people visiting the Olympic park buying a McDonald's. It usually sells about 72.5m across its 1,200 outlets in the UK.

During the 2008 Beijing games it sold 1.25m meals at the Olympic park.

Went into a really greasy dive one night after a feed of pints. They gave me what seemed to be a weeks supply of soggy chips with my burger. It was really ridiculous, enough of three people. Of course, I scoffed the lot and woke up the next morning feeling like I had eaten a bag of cement.
    Sometimes I disgust myself!

Bought this weird chicken breast burger in BK a few years back. There was a weird buttery preservative flavour off it and it was almost perfectly circular.

I was so disgusted I got my money back would you believe it!? Never been since.

    Fucking shithole.

Not fast food but I got a chicken salad roll once in Dunnes at the deli counter. Got home and was eatin away thought to myself "this chickin is rather chewy". It was a chewed piece of chewing gum that must have fallen out of someone’s mouth and into the chicken or lettuce or something. Havent been able to eat a chicken roll since.

Got lasagna with an unexpected splash of curry sauce all over it. Needless to say, the place does not operate anymore.

You know those really greasy chippers that everyone goes to after the pub, the ones that have the nicest chips and kebabs at stupid O'clock in the morning.

I went back to one of them for lunch once, sober and ordered a kebab. I have never eaten anything as disgustingly greasy before or since.

Worked in Supermacs for nearly 2 years. You got charged for the food whether you ate it or not so out of boredom I made meself some strange concoctions during that time,

Curry fish burger with garlic anyone?

I was eating in supermacs in Waterford. Got to the end of my chips and found a bluebottle covered in salt at the bottom. I brought it up to counter and just said 'in case any of the kitchen staff are missing this' and left.

I fear if I have another one, my body wont be able to cope.

    :D

Although the idea of a battered pizza I find intriguing.

I've never eaten in a fast food resturaunt. Here's why.

At the age of fifteen, (back in 1995), I used to work in a McDonalds' as a weekend job. They used to serve these fruit pies, in apple, strawberry and blueberry flavour. The manageress used to toss all these fruit pies into the same deep fat frier, and when they were done, it was impossible to tell them apart (the pastry on all of them looked pretty much the same). So, to tell them apart, she used to sink her fingernail (which was more like a talon), into the pastry, and check the colour of the filling. And no, she didn't bother washing her hands before doing it.

I know thats' not exactly the worst thing that could happen, but its' fairly indicative of what goes on in these places.

I worked in a chipper many years ago where the owner covered the floor behind the counter with wooden pallets to stop the staff from slipping on the greasy floor which was never cleaned. The spaces in between the wood on the pallets was always full of old grease and dropped food.

One night during a very busy new years eve, he was rushing so much, he sliced open the palm of his hand when opening a bag of frozen chips.

Without bandaging the wound which was bleeding profusely, he still continued serving chips grabbing 2 punnets at a time, until one poor customer told him "Sorry - I didn't want ketchup on mine"

The fcuker gave it to someone else.

I walked into a well known fast-food place recently. I nearly vomited. The food and hygiene were perfect, but the clientele's features were like the menu from hell - it was all muffin tops, bingo wings, cankles and sovereign rings. Disgusting it was.

They're gorgeous! The idea sounds horrible but they're actually delicious. They sit in your stomach for about ages though.

I haven't had too many very bad fast food experiences. The worst was when I was in school having lunch in Supermac's. I was having a pizza slice meal and for some reason at the time I didn't like peppers so I'd taken them off the pizza and left them on the paper plate when I'd finished the slice.
Some of the men doing roadworks outside were standing beside our table in the queue. One fella asked if I was eating the peppers and I said no. He proceeded to take the plate and snarf the peppers directly from it, slobbering incredibly loudly, then left the spittle-covered and now soggy plate right back down in front of me. Disgusting!

I remember going into BK in Limerick city at 3am. I was waiting in the queue with two friends when I needed a piss. The toilets were all closed bar the handicap toilet. I open the door to find a scobie girl with her kacks around her ankles, eating a chicken royale on the toilet.

After looking her up and down, I felt ill

Went to use the toilet in a restaurant in Clonmel many moons ago after scoffing down a burger and chips but what I found in the toilet made me vomit, Some dick head had left a sh*t in the sink. Gross

We were in a restaurant in Burma and my wife asks if I could see a toilet anywhere. I looked around and then told her no and as we weren't far from our hostel she wasn't pushed. Just as well as under every table there was a bucket which I hadn't noticed at first. When I was looking around I saw a guy reach down with one hand to take a piss into the bucket and with the other hand he continued eating. I waited until she'd digested her meal before I told her about the buckets.

That's all the rage in the finer establishments nowadays.
    Poo Poo in the sink.

got steak and chips at a restaurant in kildare once.

You know what, I eat Abrakebabra sometimes....

It's the only feckin place open late at night for a bit of grub if you live in a small town.

    I feel so dirty.

Really? I disagree. Any time I'm in any of the McD's/BKs in town, they're just fine. There's always security at the bottom of the stairs, and the bathrooms are pretty clean enough.

ALSO, my friend worked in McD's in Blackrock a couple years ago in transition year and she said the hygeine was amazing in there (I was surprised by this, but hey).

An indian in town (not dublin) did those. Chicken and Vegetable pakoras, kebab meat (meh), onion bhaji, chips and a couple of dips, for 6 euro. I fecking loved them.

Worked in Bristol years ago, one of the delicacies in local chippies there are "******s" (I kid you not, they are a kind of meatball) normally served with mushy peas & chips

I was only a young lad at the time, it took me a couple of months to work up the courage to ask for "two large ******s, peas & chips please"

    Well, it's my worst experience!!

Dont know why all the ***** but kind of rhymes with baggots, no offence intended

You could also get small ******s

was in Abrakebabra one day years ago for lunch.... the lady workin there was standing behind the counter wiping it down with a cloth..... She sneezed and in doing so brought the cloth up to her face like a tissue.... took it away had a quick look at it and continued wiping...

I was referring to Dublin ;) but having said that it was a while back and it has prob changed since I graced Mc D's with my presence! lol

Also I just remembered I was in a chippy in Cavan or Fermanagh or somewhere and the lady that served me was wearing a polo shirt and lets just say her armpits hadn't seen a razor in about 5 years. Each to their own and all that but I would think it would be a bit sweaty considering you are working in a hot environment..yuck

you mean the one where the owner never wore a hairnet in the kitchen area, and at the weekends let his kids run loose back there too?
