Anyone know of anywhere to get good thick rubber floor mats to deadlift on at home? Lookin for a shop as opposed to online because I wanna look at what I'm buyin first. Tried BnQ but they didn't have anything decent!

I'm on the market for the same. My rack and weights will be coming next week.

I've read that stable matting is good so I'm going to go to a friend of a friend that keeps horses to see whether she has some or knows where to get some.

Cow mats from the local co-op. B&Q do an outdoor rubber mat as well AFAIK

Cow mats ftw. You could stick a thread in farming and forestry and see if anyone has spare ones.

    Yep, cow mats.
Available in a variety of sizes from Co-ops, farm shops, and milking machine suppliers.

They can even be got to interlock, if you a use for that sort of thing:

Easyfix over in Galway supply a lot of different types of rubber mat.
All the sheds at home are kitted out with rubber under the cattle, and there's some lasting in them.
Easyfix.ie is the site. They'd be up and down the country fitting out sheds etc and I'm sure if you bought a couple they could be got fairly near you.

For Gym use they would be top of the range, heavy duty stuff!

Another crowd that do them is mayo mats. Good stuff too, but I dont have them so cant say much more.

Roughly how much would a cow/horse mat go for?

I vaguely remember €70-80 apiece for a pair of (plain-edged) deLaval ones a couple of years ago.
Not 100% certain though, so don't take that as gospel.

Dennehy Distribututors in Tipp were selling Easyfix mats a month or so ago for E40 for 6'X4' and 17mm thick. (These are the ones we have, and are good!)

I've never dealt with them but they were advertising them at that money with contact details of Paul Dennehy 087 9036483.
    Maybe worth a call?
