So then lads, now that we're a few weeks away from the start of the season I thought it would be a good idea to set up a prediction thread that we can come back to at the end of the season and see how we all got on!

I'll keep it simple and stick to the Premier League and European Competitions and if anyone else wants to add some then feel free. Also, people can wait until nearer to the big kick-off if they so wish.

Here we go, I'll start off anyway:

    Premier League:

    1) Manchester United
    2) Chelsea
    3) Manchester City
    4) Arsenal
    5) Liverpool
    6) Tottenham
    7) Everton
    8) Aston Villa
    9) Sunderland
    10) Newcastle

    18) QPR
    19) Norwich
    20) Swansea

    Top goalscorer: Robin Van Persie

Player of the year: Nemanja Vidic

    Overachievers: Wolves

    Underachievers: Fulham

    First manager sacked: Neil Warnock

    European Competition:

    Champions League winner: Barcelona

    Europa League winner: PSG

Not a criticism of your post but if United have the top goal scorer and the one of our CBs is POTY I would be expecting the title.

Ye should do enough for top 10 alright but I don't see ye getting any better than that tbh

I think Villa will certainly finish 8th. I reckon the top 6 are set in stone and that Everton are going to finish ahead of them but other that I can't see the likes of Sunderland, Newcastle etc troubling them too much.

Even though they've lost a couple of good players they look to be buying well (Given's in, N'Zogbia will be too, then there's also strong links to players such as Parker) and this season will have a striker for the whole campaign that will guarantee around 20 goals no matter what happens.

everton would wanna get a wriggle on in the transfer market if theyre gonna finish ahead of villa i think

also i can see pool having an underwhelming season, given the hype around them right now. dont think there'll be much between them, villa and everton... possibly even fulham too

I can still see Everton finishing ahead of Villa. They somehow manage to pull of finishing in the top 7 season after season despite rarely spending any money. See Everton Time :pac: I think they'll be 7th again this season.

Liverpool will finish 5th IMO. I don't think they've got enough to dislodge any of the current top 4.

As for Fulham, I actually think they'll have a poor season and I've got them down as my pick for underachievers. They've got a small squad as it is and if they make the Europa League group stages they'll have played about 8 or 10 competitive games before they've played 2 Premier League games. A few injuries and they'll be in big trouble IMO.

So then lads, now that we're a few weeks away from the start of the season I thought it would be a good idea to set up a prediction thread that we can come back to at the end of the season and see how we all got on!

I'll keep it simple and stick to the Premier League and European Competitions and if anyone else wants to add some then feel free. Also, people can wait until nearer to the big kick-off if they so wish.

Here we go, I'll start off anyway:

    Premier League:

    1) Manchester United
    2) Chelsea
    3) Manchester City
    4) Arsenal
    5) Liverpool
    6) Tottenham
    7) Everton
    8) Aston Villa
    9) Sunderland
    10) Newcastle

    18) QPR
    19) Norwich
    20) Swansea

    Top goalscorer: Robin Van Persie

Player of the year: Nemanja Vidic

    Overachievers: Wolves

    Underachievers: Fulham

    First manager sacked: Neil Warnock

    European Competition:

    Champions League winner: Barcelona

    Europa League winner: PSG

With only 2 games left for most teams I thought I'd bump this.

How did everyone get on then? Jesus wept my predictions were awful for the most part :pac:

I'm surprised at just how many people had Chelsea down to win the title. I suppose it's easy to say that now though...

Fans of Norwich and Swansea (and possibly Wigan) can have a laugh.
