Can't uninstall software after BSOD

I'm installing a USB print server on a small network (http://www.tp-link.com/products/productDetails.asp?pmodel=TL-PS310U) and while everything is fine on 2 of the computers, 1 has a problem.

When the computer is shutting down, I see this blue screen.

    BSOD.jpg

It suggests removing the software, but when I tried to remove 'MFP and storage server' (the tp link software) from Add/Remove, I got error 1628: Failed to complete installation.

Googling that error brings me to pages like this which suggest a problem with the windows installer http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2438651#reso2 but it only suggests using the removal tool built into the software, and there is none. The alternative it suggests is manually removing the software and I'm not comfortably trying that.

    Anyone have any ideas, please?
