Knee protection for a wound

I've had this wound/scab on my knee for c. 4 months now after a sliding tackle in football on a less than perfect surface. The slightly healed skin keeps on bursting open upon subsequent slide tackles (has happened 5 or 6 times at this stage) so it's never really going to heal unless I put some proper protection on it as slide tackles are pretty much unavoidable.

I've put some knee straps over it to no avail, so wondering if anyone has any suggestions? I'm even contemplating wearing proper skaters knee pads during matches at this stage.

Full length underarmor/skins type pants with a neoprene knee sleeve under?

Man be careful with those things, make sure your cleaning it properly. I ripped my knee open slide tackling on astro turf and it got infected, i couldnt do anything sports wise for 2 weeks, even walking was agony, and it leaked puss 24/7.

yup one of those would be useful.

Also cover the whole thing in vasiline before you go out. Its obviously not 100% but it will help reduce some of the friction

Cheers, I've tried a couple of those knee straps, but the ones I've tried have been quite bulky and restrictive range of motion wise. I'll have a look for a more comfortable one.
