Boards Server Event Thread! This weekend : TBC

Alright, so a few of you have guessed correctly (not that it was that difficult to guess). The event is going to be a huge 200x200 maze.


If these images look dark, then get used to it. The whole event will take place during perpetual night time so mobs can spawn. You're two blocks away from finishing and a creeper kills you? Tough luck, start again!

Here is where you'll begin. It's an 11x11 room that you can /spawn to whenever you want in case you get a bit lost.


The saddles that are mentioned on one of the signs will be in chests throughout the map. Grab as many as you can and at the end of the event you can redeem them for prizes or money in the game.
Why saddles you ask? Well if the item you obtained was stackable, one person could take everything and that wouldn't be very nice now would it?


Now, some random things to note about the event:
-Your inventory will be empty at the start of the event, so don't worry about storing your items before it starts. Your normal inventory will be be back when the event is over.
-There will be no /home or teleporting of any kind. This includes admins because they can do this as well.
-You cannot place or break blocks. This is to prevent people from getting on top of the maze and just waltzing to the end.
-If you finish the map, then you can still participate. Help someone out or grab a few more saddles!
-MCMMO will be disabled for the event.
-The event will run as long as it has to. No matter what, it will not end until at least one person finishes!
-The map will be available for download after the event.

About the prizes;
-Everyone who joins the event will get something back on the main map.
-Anyone who finishes will get something extra.
-The first few to finish will get a greater prize.
-Number of saddles will be noted and prizes given accordingly.
-All prizes will be handed out when we're back onto the main map.

Well, it may or may not have taken me about half an hour flying over the most direct route to the finish at ten times normal speed. If you consider that hard, then yeah :P

Aesthetics mostly. Plus mobs can spawn on them, so you'll have mobs raining onto you

A multiple choice vote probably would have been better. I voted for thursday in the poll but would have voted Sunday too.

Well that's exactly what I was thinking... People were voting for the day that they "wanted" to play and not the days that they were "able" to play

Thanks, took a fairly long time :P

Also, I'll put it to 8pm instead. And from now on the poll will be what days someone is NOT available, which makes it a lot easier to choose the day the fewest people are missing.

For some reason the title isn't updating for me, so I'll assume it isn't for you guys either.

The event will be on at 8pm, not 6pm.

You could just do a multiple choice poll and have people pick the days they are avaialble.

Well, it's increasingly looking like I won't be able to make the event... Yeah :l
I'll still be on for testing and making sure everything is set to go, but after that it'll be left in cherry's hands and most likely another admin who would like to volunteer (sorry to leave it with you).
Basically, the event is still going ahead with or without me, but at least I'll be able to fine tune it before I leave to make sure it's the way it should be. The whole event really requires very little moderation anyway so it should be fine without me

Sorry about this guys, hope you have fun without me.
