Like, do they actually think that the characters in these movies represent real lives and events? Im sitting here watching sum bull**** movie about a maid been swept off her feet by some famous guy and he happens to have an interest in her son at the same time! LOL What kind of movie is this suppose to appeal to, single mothers or something? LOL

there are romantic guys out there! i was proposed to after 6 mths of knowing my husband . he proposed on a plane with huge diamond and then we got married in Las Vegas 2 weeks later. he well and truly swept me off my feet. Maybe your just a lazy guy? if your not willing to romance a lady you will most likely end up in non satisfying relationship (prob for her)or no relationship at all.

We don't all enjoy chick flicks.

I think that was a scene from the Wedding Singer.

Most movies aren't like real life, that's why we like them.

or you'll end up with a lady who doesn't have grandiose expectations of being romanced after letting one too many Hollywood romcoms go to her head

chickflicks are shocking! the plot line is always the same. some girl falling in love. movies concerning men have many plots, and they rarely focus on falling in love with women!

After tidying the house all day, making the dinner for the family and finishing off reading our copies of OK and Hello magazine it nice to unwind with an interesting and factual movie.

Just don't watch the types of movies you don't like. Watch the ones you DO like. Simples.

Sorry, do you actually believe women are stupid enough to believe that chick flicks represent real life or something?

They are pure escapism, same as James Bond or Swarzenegger movies are for men.

Is Pretty Woman any more believeable as a real concept to women as Die Hard is to a man? Like f*ck it is.

No, but there will be a sub-plot focusing on screwing one.

Not all women like "chick-flick". We don't all like Sex and The City, either.

True, fair point, the unrealistic expectations hollywood love stories put on real life relationships is arguably as damaging as the unrealistic expectations porn puts on real life sex :pac::pac:

As another poster said, not all girls love chickflicks and I doubt the ones who do happen to believe that what they see in the movie is likely to happen in real life.

Saw this brilliant article the other day though - http://www.cracked.com/article_19285_5-romantic-movie-gestures-that-were-actually-dick-moves.html

and you dont find the fact u call urself wild cat embarrassing?
your prob a semi overweight girl with hairy legs and some sort of hippy degree. and the chances of an attractive man wanting to marry you are slim to none. you will prob marry after a few years of beating down your equally unattractive boyfriend.

Congrats. That IS a lovely story and I wish you all the happiness in the future.

Why are so many people freaking out about this poster? Each to their own I say! We all have different ideas of whats romantic. I don't think the poster was trying to insult anyone or belittle anyone.. Maybe she's just trying to point out that it CAN happen?? Yeah maybe being proposed to so early and getting married in Vegas is cliched but isn't that Hollywood's fault??

Ha ha super edit. B*tches be crazy... :pac:

Thread about chick flicks turns into hair pulling and swinging handbags. Didn't see that one coming!! Don't worry though, you'll probably all resolve your differences and end up best friends by the end of the thread just like in the movies!
