Advice on wireless router

    No router will send a signal through several thick walls, "you canny defeat the laws of physics Captain". Best option would be to cable or use homeplugs and add another wireless device, on a channel far away from your existing wifi device.

    Of those 2 the Linksys is far better, I use them lots and rarely give any trouble. You can also put a better firmware on them and get many better functions
