Ive watched the sunday game twice now and both times the intro showing tryones glory days and mayos defeats really got me pumped and emotional...... could only imagine what its like if you were actually part of the team. A team on the edge of all Ireland greatness 3 times only to have it clasped away from them each time.

Let's hope this year things end differently and we make history after 62years!

Err, aren't Dillon and Andy the only survivors from the 2004 panel? Andy only came on as a 65th minute sub (he was an U21 in 04) too.

That's not so easy to say if you're living in Donegal and are friends with some of the greatest wind-up merchants known to man... :o

I expect a reply something along the lines of "We won when it mattered" or "2 AI's in 20 years" blah blah blah

But they've been awfully quiet since that QF alright! :D

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't confident that we can do it.

The way I see it is, if we lose then what changes? Us supporters are too used to taking these defeats on the chin. We'll be called 'bottlers' and 'chokers' for another year at least - so ****ing what! The journey so far has been superb.
    l.

It has been a great journey alright seeing them progress through the year however I cant imagine losing again especially as this TEAM is a different class to that of 04 & 06. I was in tears of sorrow last year, this time round im praying they'll be tears of happiness instead

Mickey C came on and scored 1-2(?) that day.

Not an overly emotional guy but it put the hairs on the back of my neck standing hearing The Green and Red of Mayo at full time on Sunday, nearly shed a tear. The afternoon was the usual emotional rollercoaster that comes with supporting my beloved Mayo.I do not know what I'll be like if we manage to bring home Sam after the prolonged famine. :_(
At least they got in right this time after the fiasco that was the N17 after the Donegal game

Watched the game again last night
I had thought on the day that Tyrone made a good few decent goal chances in the second half and ran at Mayo a lot, on TV it did not seem to be the case.

For the final itself I think that you start with one of the following set of forwards
    McLoughlin A Moran Dillion
    Conroy Freeman Varley
    or
    McLouglhin Higgins Dillion
    Conroy Freeman A Moran

I have always believed that Andy Moran would work well as a half forward were he can be more creative, I don't think they have much option other tahn to play him even though he has not been great
Varley had a stinker on Sunday but he is still a guy who can deliver sometimes, the lack of fit guys means that you have to go for him
Conroy looked great v Tyrone and I think is ready to start.
that leave Higgins at the back where I think he will be needed, especially v Dublin

The other option is keep Higgins up there and drop Varley to the bench, where he may be a good impact sub, but the first substitution would be Carolan for Cuniffe and Higgins dropping back as we have seen previously

Unsure re Enda father,he can blow hot or cold, yeah he was awful on Sunday.Probably more likely to kick over a few scores with his sweet ciotog than the ever lasting duracell battery that is Cathal Carolan.Probably would be inclined to start him but I do not believe there's a snowball's chance of Andy been dropped, ditto Chris Barrett. So Zippy will stay in the half forwards and Michael Conroy in for Cillian O Coonor.

Agree about Higgins to an extent. But the his role as a sweeper in the half forward line will be more of use against Dublin or Kerry. The last day the role was of little use as Tyrone were defensive and countering the whole time but Kerry and especially Dublin will attack relentlessly so we will need cover for our half back line attacks. Its gonna be an interesting few weeks anyhow especially with the Cillian situation

    Here you go! - http://www.rte.ie/sport/player/809/470232/

No matter what happens in the final we'll still have some good memories from this year.

Based on performances this year I'd be more confident of beating Kerry in the final, however the winner of Sunday's match will be a formidable opponent. A lot has been made of Dublin's fitness and the question stills remains to be answered if they've peaked too early. My money would be on Dublin to win, they've shown more tenacity this year and have been far more clinical in dispatching of teams while Kerry seem to have limped through the year so far.

Want Kerry to win. We owe them some payback.......
Think they have a good chance catching the Dubs on the hop, especially with the team that has been namef.

Without trying to be cockey or ludicrous, I think that if we get kerry in the final we may possibly annhiilate them as I reckon Mayo would have the will power and motivation to play 78 minutes flat and destroy them in the way they destroyed us in other years. Now I know they should have the motivation to do that no matter who they're against but fact of the matter is that mayo and kerry do have history and I know a lot of people would like to see that history truely put into the past! Here's to hope anyway :)

Realistically I think we will face Dublin though!

8 minutes injury time? Are you expecting Donal Vaughan to snap Gooch's arm in half or something?

If you were going to sign up for next year anyway then it's a good deal.

    2014 membership €200 + two All-Ireland tickets €160 = €360

Also you can knock €80 off it as you don't need two seats, unless you're obese.

Will probably go for it myself

Does anyone know if the tickets will be in 306/307 ?

Suppose if ya were on that cairde maigheo its good in that ya get the chance to get an extra ticket. But in comparison to the gaa season ticket its expensive imo

It nearly pays for itself if you make use of it!

    League/club games free.
1st round of championship free, €5 off all other championship games, free Cairde jacket if it's your first year and of course being guaranteed a golden ticket!
It's also paying into a good cause.

And vouchers for Elverys Havent directly compared to the Gaa season ticket but is definitely unreal value if you use it

Does that include a free county draw ticket? If then it isn't overly expensive as ya pay 100e for that draw anyhow. But all the things you mentioned you get with the gaa seasonticket (70e) other than the jacket and free club games (only be going to my own anyhow if not playing). Just my IMO but I think its expensive but it does reward our county teams so thats another benefit I suppose.
