I was on Cyfra + HD last season

I'm also going to stick with the Cyfra plus card for the premiership and the jsc card for everything else. It served me very well last year and seeing that very few of the rights have changed it should be grand again this season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

My Cyfra is still good until about Feb 2012 so will probably stick with it as I cant see a better option available to be honest. Tring apparently was decent last season in terms of games shown a part from the pic.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,818 ✭✭✭Minstrel27

I am going towards Cyfra but I cannot make a definite decision. I do like how you can make the polish commentary disappear and have just stadium sound when games are shown on Canal+ Sport 1. Sadly it isn't possible to do this with the HD channel.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,943 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

I heard Tring has new channels and going down the HD route

I read it on alsat before the cu'nt mods there banned me (you know who you are)

I read tring are fcuked financially and Digitalb were making a bid. Also read Canal+ France were bidding. God only knows how true any of that is.

Anyone know what the story is with PLTV 10east.

Are they getting ready to offer subscriptions next season?

Decent channel, great quality. Would definitely sign up if it was reasonable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,615 ✭✭✭Newtown90

Ya heard about Canal+ bidding for Tring and hd coming in November...

    But also on Alsat lol

Think the satellite would nearly have to be launching by now to give it time to orbit to the correct position etc...

Think i'll go for cyfra too, but must first find out how to update the card regularly since ccam won't do it...

Anythings better than setanta to be honest, there commentary is a bit like Tv3's Gaa, it would turn you off the game!

    What version are you using?

2.2.1 - but I have updated CCCam a few times over the last year and I never had any trouble with. Why do you think it won't update?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,148 ✭✭✭Ronan|Raven

Just issues I am having with my Cyfra card not updating the entitlements correctly for 0068.

It is only in the last two months it has become an issue. It updated fine before this using numerous versions of CCCam over they years.

You are not the only one. I have had that same problem also as are other people. There is a thread about the problem on another forum though I cant remember which one!

I had satsklep send a signal to update the card last week. Since receiving the update I noticed my 0068 updated by one day yesterday so looks as though it could be working again but will keep an eye on it. Try either Cyfra+ or TVP INFO.

    Pulsat doing a 6 month Sky Italia Mondo+Calcio pre-paid card for £280.

Includes both standard and high definition channels.

Not a bad deal in fairness - I have bought from them in the past and had no problems.

hmmm that's a pretty interesting deal

Does that have all the PL matches and alot of bundesliga matches?

Also would it be easy to get that card working in a spiderbox mate?

Sky IT has the most football from Bundesliga, la Liga and EPL afaik. The outrageous price is what has put people off for years. Never used a Spiderbox but if it runs CCcam then I presume it should handle a Sky IT card. If its like a Sky UK card NDS then you will prob need the boxkey (easy enough to find - just google it).

Dunno man - its saying Special Edition so I doubt it will be lasting indefinitely. Best send them an email. They have 4 HD Copa America channels at the moment.

Viasat Latvia, 4.8 east, 2 year sub, they are showing every premier league game, all 380 games, approx €1500 for official box and card for 2 years.

So €750 per season with a choice of any match you want. I'm really tempted! Plus an investment of a big dish installed on top of that though....

Very happy with Cyfra+ and I have been using pause on my freesat+ box to get 5 live commentary in sync. Also use this for TV3 commentary!

I didn't know you could turn off the Polish commentary - would be great for La Liga games. How do you do this?

I had to manually change the audio pid. Can't think of the number off the top of my head but you can find it on Lyngsat

Are you sure that price is correct for both seasons? and where are you located as im in belfast and a minimum 1.5m dish will be needed. as i will be going for this option myself so if your in the south 2m and above to eliminate rain fade.

You will not be getting 16 east on a 60cm in Ireland anyway. If your looking at 16 east you will need an absolute minimum of 80cm. I'm not entirely sure but I'd say that you'd get hotbird with a 60cm alright.

If in the west get yourself a proper setup - 1.2m dish minimum.

A Sky dish would struggle to hold 13e in bad weather and as said above you can forget 16e altogether.

The 1.2m will basically future proof your setup for whatever package interests you now or in the future.
