I'm not going to bother argue this, but the €40 million offered for him last season wasn't for his 'positivity' and 'forward momentum'. Watch him play this summer in the Euro's and count how many times he gives the ball away, you'll only need the one hand.

Disagree, last couple of months he was giving the ball away too much.

3rd in PL regarding pass completion, glad to see the stats reinforce my point.

not a great one for stats meself but to be worth £40m he'd need to weigh in with a lot more goals. I'd say £30m bid and Levy will let him go.

Good shout, his goals record is shocking, I'd score more. His shots at goal are even extremely weak.

In fairness to Modric though, he is good at assisting the assists :D

Thats true- More often than not he gives the killer ball which opens up a defence and Bale or Lennon set up a chance from it.

So thats Hazard and Marin to Chelsea, anyone still think they want Modric?

The papers don't really seem to be touting an imminent bid from City or United.

Personally I think there's every chance he will still be here next season.

Here as in at Spurs, not on Boards...

i'd expect a bid from united , they badly need a CM player , plus Levy knows they will pay well over the odds.

With Utd almost certain to get Kawaga, i don't think they'll bid for Modric either. I'm thinking he might actually stay. Hopefully, he won't even put in any requests, and will just get ready for the amazing adventure that is the Europa League :pac:

He'll be gone. It's clear the CL was the main thing for him and that's fair enough. The aim was to get into the CL and although technically we did enough, Chelsea ruined our season by winning the CL and knocking us out.

I'll be gutted to see him go, but it won't be for less than £30m and even then hopefully it'll be to someone in Spain or Italy where we won't have to watch him every weekend. Hopefully we can secure a midfielder for that money that will score a few more goals.

So Chelsea have got Mata, Marin and Hazard this year.

Looks like United have Kagawa. If they buy Modric, it will seem like the top end of the Premiership is going nuts for small players.

City already have Tevez, Silva, Nasri and Aguero.

Strong talk today that Modric is off to United for 25m, it's a long way from 40million last summer.

It's from The Sun...until it gets some coverage from an actual source, i'll not believe any of it.

I hope his head is turned and cant concentrate on his football...
    just for the weekend anyway

Hehe I love these stories. No quotes or anything. Why would we accept a £25m offer from Utd when Chelsea offered £40m last season? Has his value dropped by £15m in one season?! Laughable.

Transfer fee way too small for a player of Modric's calibre.

I don't think this will make a difference tbh. If Levy gets a better manager in, it might actually improve the chances of keeping him. Alternatively it could be a way of getting an extra £30 - £40m for the new guy to spend.

    It is possible you know.

I realise that he wants to leave, but remain unconvinced that the clubs rumoured to be after him are genuinely after him.

Is he really a Mourinho type signing?

Have United got the finances to pay 35m for one player?

Do Chelsea or Man City need another small creative type?

On the open market he is really only worth in or about 25M imo. Could probably get an extra 10m if we were to sell him to a premier league club but that brings it's own consequences.

If he scored goals frequently from midfield he'd be worth about 50m!

Is he irreplaceable? I don't think so.

I can see Levy playing hard ball again. After last summer i wouldn't put anything past him.

I wouldn't except a penny under £40m for him off a PL team. I can't see Real being true.

I very much doubt United can afford 40m.

Chelsea and City don't need him. That wouldn't have stopped them in the past but I think those days are gone.

So it looks like he'll be gone. Pity, but what more could we expect. Let's hope that Mouthino is as good or better!
